He has just been promoted with us, played his part in the play-offs and has had some good moments with us.
I think that's a good send off for him, and we are going to need that extra slot cause I can't see us shifting someone like Ahadme.
And yes - Chuks should and will go , with huge thanks for his good season in 2020/21 and his affable nature .0 -

When can we expect to see a list of those players that are leaving ?0

Just read Lloyd Jones is going to Birmingham for £1.9 million.I hope it’s a scam.It would be madness.9

My take on Miles from queries above. I think his hamstring injury has impacted his pace, probably permanently.
So now he is just a big player (physicality he doesn't use) poor in the air for his height, with quick feet, a measure of intimidation for inexperienced defenders and a decent shot.
Mbick's self-confessed USP is he's a "handful" which I expect him to be in mens football with a bit more experience. He is not slow, and he is combative.1 -
With regards to Gilbert I certainly echo what most are concerned about, that being his stamina and physicality but there’s a talented footballer there. A proper Nathan Jones pre season and some time bulking up in the Gym and we might see a player worth retaining. No idea if he’s on Jones radar and given Jones’s comment about wanting athleticism and experience I suspect not but I wouldn’t be too disappointed if he were.1

The other question the player would have to answer is whether they want to be a key piece of the team here, or a bench warmer there.0 -
Will Luton have a fire sale after relegation? I would certainly like Aasgard for £1m. Last year of parachute payments.0

This is the supposed LJ to Birmingham link but it looks completely fake to me. Nothing from Sky to suggest it at all, re-using a header image from FLW and the last sentence says Birmingham are in L1!

He signed a new contact with us a few months ago and I'd imagine he gets another good increase due to promotion.3 -
With regard to Gilbert, who certainly has qualities, I wonder if those qualities puts clear daylight between him and Karoy Anderson.
If I was choosing between the two I would certainly go for an academy graduate like Anderson.
On the other hand if it was between Anderson and a signing with the quality of, say, Barry Bannon then the differences at the moment would be more marked.
Surely any incomings now have to be quite clearly a fair bit better than what we've got, and I don't see Gilbert as that.0 -
As much as Lloyd Jones has been fantastic this season, Birmingham will be aiming for better players. They have stated ambition to get promoted again next season, Jones is definitely a championship level player but I think Birmingham will be aiming for even better than that0

Surely any incomings now have to be quite clearly a fair bit better than what we've got, and I don't see Gilbert as that.
Anderson's strengths are his aggression, winning the ball, ability in the air, work rate, fitness etc, and he's starting to show his ability on the ball - something I don't think we've fully seen due to adapting to men's football, confidence, consistency, all those things many young players have to develop as they step up.
Gilbert's stronger areas are where Anderson has struggled - his touch, control, passing, while he has a natural eye for a killer pass which while Anderson can show more in time, is never likely to be the best part of his game. Gilbert is the opposite, he needs to develop that defensive part of his game if he wants to play regularly for a manager like NJ.
It's going to be interesting to see how both progress in the next few years, even if Gilbert doesn't return to us.4 -

Def the type of player we should be going for though
It’s going to be bloody tough without 6/7 real quality additions imo
as well as the team did this season, this is a massive step up. Godden has been class and is absolutely worth keeping, but Coventry, a competitive team in the championship felt it was the right time to move him on. Similar Docherty. I like both of them, but thinking 6 years on from when we were last in the championship, it seems like it’s even harder. You can’t argue with NJ’s approach and how it’s got us out this league and the focus on clean sheets, but I’m thinking, replicating that type of approach with the current players against some of the teams we’re gonna be up against 🤯 - going to be very tough0 -

I’ve no inside information on who we might be signing this summer. But, on the way out of Wembley, I was eavesdropping on a conversation between my mate and a coach in the academy (who he knows) and the word on the street is we won’t be splashing too much cash in the summer window - we will be spending some. But interestingly, we have come under pressure, presumably from parents, to sell some of our Crown Jewels in the younger age groups. He said 3 U13 players had gone to Newcastle, Arsenal and Everton for combined fees of c£1.3m. Just passing on what I heard ..7
