    This is utter madness.

Agreed, i've never understood how it just became widely accepted that clubs pay the agents. Agents work for the player to get the best deal for the player, therefore the player should pay them. This nonsense like Haaland's Dad demanding a payment of millions from City so he'd sign for them is crazy.

If all the big clubs got together and said that as of today we will no longer pay a penny to agents, then what? Players are going to suddenly refuse to sign for Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern, PSG, City, Chelsea, Man U etc because of no agents fee? I doubt it.
This is emphasised by Liverpool paying £20 mill even though they only signed one player.
Two - they signed Mamardashvili, the Georgian keeper too but loaned him back to Valencia.

    Still ridiculous mind.

Newcastle have now scored 11 in 2.5 games and Isak hasn't got any of them.
And Palace have conceded 9 in 1.5 games
    Conceeding 10 in two games?

When Palace were in relegation form?!

Can you xg bitches explain how Newcastle were 1.39 and Palace were 2.00 ! Pleased that Jamie Redknapp thought it was bollocks.

Palace had a penalty which is probably 0.75 xG on its own

from a post earlier:  Newcastle also scored an own goal (so not even a shot), a header from a deep cross, a Murphy wonder strike from out wide and Isak's goal was from 20 yards out. So that's 4 goals and the xG for all of those will be quite small

    Thanks for the info BUT...
How is momentum factored into xg ?
xg oversimplifies the dynamics of an individual match.
How do you define luck and belief in a computer algorithm ?
Leicester City went I believe 760 minutes without scoring in the Premier, so how is confidence factored into the chance that falls to a Foxes player in a central area of the penalty area compared to teams like Liverpool or Newcastle etc ?

xG is just another stat to look at a game by.

Where does luck, belief, and confidence appear in other - more traditional - football stats such as goals on/off target.

xG may well oversimplify a match within one figure, but you're over-complicating match stats by expecting a relation to luck, belief, and confidence.

Like to see Newcastle is keeping up that handshake relationship with Charlton.

Humiliated our rivals and we'll return the favour 🤝🏻

Nailed on as soon as I triple captained him this week on fantasy football

XG is an even bigger pile of shit than VAR

Everton fans are not impressed because the last ever game at Goodison has been moved to a midday Sunday kick off. Thoroughly depressing kick off time, but i hope they can still make it a decent atmosphere.

Their club was instrumental in setting up the PL and selling out to sky. Tough.

Apart from the fact that tracking xG has zero impact on a game, whilst VAR often ruins them.

Southampton equal Derby's record low points with an injury time equaliser away at West Ham.

The most important thing with Villa beating Newcastle 4-1 on a rare off day for the Geordies is it makes Chelsea's task of finishing in the top 5 more difficult as the odious blues are now 7th.

Villa are absolutely flying right now, they've won 11 of their last 12 in all competitions with the only loss being away to PSG.

Let's hope they keep flying next Saturday and clip the eagles wings.

The stats after the Newcastle game suggested the game was evenly matched.......then 5-0 :)
XG and Opta etc are not to be taken seriously.

Chelsea have the toughest run in of all the sides in contention. Still have to play Liverpool and their last two away games are Newcastle and Forest.

Also since December they haven't beaten a side who aren't in the bottom 6, or won away.

That said, if they fix that and win at Fulham today, they could be 5th if Forest lose.

Changing subject slightly, I know Spurs amd United have been under par this season but I didn't realise (its been a while since I looked at the table) that West Ham are still in the nether regions.

I must admit I've not seen anywhere enough of them to comment but have they had a huge amount of key injuries?  Know they were struggling under the Spanish fella but thought Potter would turn them around quickly.

Think I tipped them for top 6-7 this season too.

Think the season was gone before Potter arrived. Hammers fans are fed up though and loudly booed at full time yesterday I think. Missing Antonio and Füllkrug didn’t help but they’re just a bit toothless

Arsenal cruising 2 up and pleased to see Davies sent off for putting his studs into Saka's Achilles Heal.
We need to protect the talent when the ball had gone.
I would like to see TC get more protection in the depth of League 1.

2 late goals for Chelsea turn it round and give Maresca a vital win to get the fans off his back for a few days. First away win for 4.5 months keeps their CL hopes alive.

Wolves win 1-0 at Old Trafford and move level with United on 38 points.

Very real possibility given their remaining fixtures, combined with concentrating on the Europa league that Man U could now finish 17th.

😢 I will just have to cheer Forest on against Spurs which I wouldn't normally do tomorrow 🤷🏻‍♂️

West Ham are below Everton now, which must be satisfying for Moyes.

Weird that Spurs can be 16th with a positive GD of +11.

Certainly strange that Spurs are GD +11 and are 16th and Forest are GD +13 and just a draw against Spurs tomorrow will put them back in a champions League spot in 5th.
