**7pm Thu 10 Apr Charlton Academy Online Q&A**

CAST are delighted that Jack Belton (winner of The Steve Clarke Trophy last year) and Sam Washington-Amoah will be joining Academy Manager Tom Pell for a Q&A on Thursday April 10th at 7pm.

Both have represented the under 18s this season and both played in the under 17 team that beat Manchester United 2-1 in the semi final of The Premier League Cup two weeks ago. Jack captained the team which qualified for the final against Spurs (venue and date to be arranged). The result and performance once again underlined the extraordinary and continuing  achievements of the CAFC Academy.

Tom Pell took over from Steve Avory in October last year and it will be fascinating to learn how he sees his new role and what (if any) changes he has made or is considering making.

The meeting is open to all CAST members:- it's only £5 for annual membership and new members are always welcome.

  • Up for this.
  • Completely misread the date, and assumed this was last night, wondered why it was very quiet, at 7pm, before realizing, ahead of my time!
  • Looking forward to this. It’ll be great to hear about what they’ve been working on over the last year or so to achieve category A and get more academy players stepping up to the first team.

There’s been a clear change in strategy with the smaller u21 squad and trying to play a similar formation and style to the first team, but I’m sure there’s plenty more that we won’t be aware of.

It’s been a tough year for the u18s in terms of results and league position, with what seems to be a younger squad than usual. Despite that as u16s many of them got to a cup final last season and have done the same this year as u17s, so there seems to be plenty of talented players in that age group.
  • Will any of us schlepp to Stevenage the following evening for the U17 cup final against Tottenham?
  • Registration is open until 6.30pm tonight  - looking forward to you joining us.
  • If you've not used zoom for a while, it'd be a good idea to log in well in advance of the start time, as there's a good chance that you'll need to install an update.
  • I have registered but have no idea how to get on to the website with the meeting on my PC.
    Was hoping for a link.

Did you get an email confirming your registration, Seth? If so, there should be a link to 'join webinar'.

  • Nah.
I have a passcode, but am unable to find where I type it in on the zoom website.

  • Oh well.

  • No Charlton Live tonight? I can't find it anywhere!
  • Finding Jack very impressive. Sam seems a bit more reticent, although he's not helped by his connection being a bit ropey
  • No Charlton Live tonight? I can't find it anywhere!
Not to take attention away from the Q&A but CL is on now
