Yep, no reason why it shouldn’t have sailed over the keepers head to seal a 3-1 win.2 -

West Ham cheated be playing Tevez & Mascereno and got a slap on the wrist instead of a points deduction.
Rules are rules. I think the deadline is the end of this week. If Reading are not sold by the weekend then they should be kicked out.
But sadly the EFL are pussies & wont do anything until the end of the regular season.0 -

When we were under a transfer embargo with ESI a lot of the footballing world knew.......but we didn't . The Peterborough chairman even discussed online about trying to get a transfer deal done with us for Maddison. WTF ?

Not only were Mansfield a lot better than I'd expected, it took us a long time to get into any sort of rhythm. Some of the first half passing was definitely below par. At times Docherty, Ramsay and Small looked like they hadn't seen each other before. Perhaps they actually weren't seeing each other as clearly as they might with those shitty grey tops blending into the shadows. Still, we never gave up and another bit of Campbell magic brought the points home. I fear that this thread could easily have read very differently this morning. Fantastic scenes at the end though what a joy it was seeing the players celebrating.
Final observation, I don't want to cast any aspersions but why were no less than four of our team wearing wrist bandages. What's going on there?0 -

I must have gone through every sort of emotion watching this game, and after Godden gobbled up the absolute gift of a back pass in the 22nd minute for the opener, having said that it was still a well taken goal, I thought here we go, how wrong I would be.
Mansfield were very well organied and had tenacity in abundance, and almost drew level immediately, the side netting was rattled, but no goal, however on 41 minutes they were level.
So second half started, and they had clearly been encouraged by the equaliser just before half time, because they really came at us, and some sterling defensive work was needed, whilst we did create some nice chances ourselves, nerves were jangling, until up popped TC with another stunner in the 75th minute to seal the three points, still Mansfield wouldn't lie down, and the last 15 + stoppage was frantic stuff, but we showed we are built of sterner stuff now, and saw out the game and journeyed home with the three points.
Special callout to every single one of the 839 die hard travelling Addicks, who never stopped singing from 1st to last minute, so on we go to The Valley Saturday and Lincoln City, where we COULD come 5pm be level with Wycombe and three points behind Wrexham should results go our way, COYR...👍3 -

That would be embarrassing to have that happen again, especially from the same player.4 -

I've not seen it back but at the time I thought Ramsay was just trying to bring the ball down and got it wrong. Brown seemed to think the same on commentary.4 -
MANNION: quiet night, one dodgy flap
RAMSAY: his worst game since his return from injury, but the best of our back 3
McINTYRE: he's no Lloyd Jones is he? For that matter he's no Alex Mitchell either - looked half a beat off it all night and nervous as hell
GILLESPHEY: right back to the depths of his awfulness witnessed until Christmas, big contribution to Stags' goal
SMALL: decent on a tough night
COVENTRY: struggled against Stags energy and physicality, often outnumbered
BERRY: alright going forward, chocolate fireguard defensively
DOCHERTY: wholly anonymous
EDWARDS: tough night and his set plays were rotten
GODDEN: star man, on it from the first second, Always always knows where his colleagues are and usually finds them, could hold it up a bit longer occasionally
CAMPBELL: bullied, battered, often by two or more, Stags were rightly scared of him but he was tireless until he literally couldn't give any more, developing into quite the weapon. His burgeoning partnership with MG is key to our current form
Referee: let plenty of physical stuff go and his worst blunder probably favoured us - no complaints
CHUKS: looked shagged out from the second time he touched the ball, stuck at his task manfully but seemed to be really struggling, one glimpse of that rare talent he has10 -

There's still a decent proportion of fans who know right from wrong and would like to protect the league competition and it's clubs, even if the 'authorities' seem to struggle with that notion as well.1 -

i put the temperature warning out on the Mansfield roll call to wrap up , I have no life so I think about these things ……fail to prepare
Haha nah I wrapped up. I remember it being cold/windy from the FA cup game there so had a coat on, despite it being tshirt weather in Nottingham in the afternoon.
I saw a few lads get off the coach in just shorts and immediately regret it.

I'm not saying it's fair. it's just the rules of the EFL. The same as a player getting 10 yellow & being suspended or failing a drugs test. Everyone knows at the start of the season what the rules are.

I must admit, I did have a chuckle when I saw all the ‘old’ and ‘bald’ running down the terrace and on to the pitch for TC’s goal.

Otherwise next time could have serious consequences.Freddie Sears v Bristol City, 15th August 2009
When Freddie Sears found the back of the net past Bristol City ‘keeper Dean Gerken, he naturally wheeled away to join his teammates celebrating Palace’s opening goal of a controversial summer afternoon, oblivious to the ball which sailed back over his head towards the penalty spot.
It wasn’t until he’d turned around to see referee Rob Shoebridge deliberating with his linesman that Sears realised something wasn’t quite right.
His goal, which followed a considerable punt upfield from Julian Speroni, cannoned in and out of the net in the flash of an eye and seemed to evade Shoebridge, who awarded a goal kick instead.
Despite enjoying the better of the two teams' performance, Palace would go on to lose the clash 1-0 as Nicky Maynard stole a point from the Eagles in the 90th minute.
I seem to recall a goal Chelsea scored at Stamford Bridge - probably 1980s. The shot went just past the right hand post on the outside, hit the stanchion at the back and came straight back out. Ref gave the goal! I think that may have been one of the reasons stanchionless (is that a word even?) nets came in.0 -

Thought Mansfield were more than tidy and will be no pushovers whoever they play. They still might have a say in top six as they still have to play Hudds (A) and both Orient and Reading at home.1
