And I tell you what, Wrexham will be wobbling.
That final game could be decisive.
  • I think we can forget automatics but we can focus on coming third just like under Bowyer The main thing is to be the in-form team.
Three home games and winnable away game against Cambridge. The fixtures against Wrexham and Wycombe will be huge.

Wrexham definitely favourites for 2nd but we're still in with a shout.

Didn't play well tonight but ground out a win.

Only need them to each lose a game, and draw another before we face them, and Wycombe have a very tough run in - Regardless of that, we were always going to need to beat them each at their places... So we do that and as tonight has shown, anything is possible.
Wycombe's next two games are away to Reading and Huddersfield. Lose them and we may only need a draw to stay ahead of them.
Given the form they're on, I dont trust Huddersfield to help us, especially given their home form!!

But then in the games around us, they face Bolton - Charlton - Orient - Stockport, they cant win all four of those matches

    Absolutely fantastic!

Driving to work the screams were heard all over Melbourne when TC smashed it in!

When the Samba Rhythm starts to play!
  • Well that win was as impressive in its way as Saturdays was in another way.

Shout out from me to McIntyre. Played well and did nothing wrong. Couldn't have been easy for him to come in tonight not having played for a long time.

Despite other results tonight, I still think we are going to narrowly miss out on the top 2. If only we had started this run a few games earlier.

And hope there are no injuries coming out of tonight's game. Campbell limped off and Aneke appeared to be holding his calf.

Wrexham equalised in the 57 minute.  They nearly won it in the 94th minute but the ball went out of play before back in from Elliot Lee corner.
Brownie mentioned it as the commentary was winding down. Checked the BBC at fill time and I was delighted with the Wrexham score
So I checked the live text, which mentioned nothing dubious in added time

    Thanks @BalladMan

Yep, needed that result after Saturday's demolition. Bit of quality in the end won it. Despite the slender scoreline I felt relatively comfortable that we would see it out. Wish Chuks pile-driver had gone in! Good night and roll on Saturday back at home. Looking forward to setting off with 10 year old grandson nice and early from Norwich. UTA.

Just a little fortunate tonight. A gift of a first goal, but then Mansfield moved the ball quickly going forward and looked threatening.Their equaliser was a great strike, and they looked likely to add to it, right up to the moment when TC's hard work finally paid off.
What followed was a test of character which we passed with flying colours, and a second equaliser never really looked on the cards.
Job done, and with both Wrexham and Wycombe dropping points, 2nd is still possible. Failing that, the gap to 7th is now 10 points, so play offs all but guaranteed.

Pressure fully on Wrexham and Wycombe now, with both us and Stockport gaining more points tonight.

Not a great performance by the sound of things but 3 points all that matters and this team really looking like one that can get something out of nothing.

Had to follow via the match thread, which I’ve not done for a while and won’t be doing again, despite the hard work of those posters that update. Too many minges.

Some stat in that game that the commentator mentioned and which we’ve now improved on.

Scored first in 20 games this season. Drew once and now won 19! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
  • Great win tonight ! All players deserve credit for that. Come Saturday at 3pm we will know the result of both early kickoffs (Wrexham & Wycombe both playing) so hoping we’ll be extra incentivised by one or both dropping points !! 3pts and any win will do vs Lincoln.

I'd rather wait until Saturday, the players will be a bit tired.
  • I was surprised to see Jones at the match after yesterdays drug testing.

McIntyre played very well, and Godden is a great centre forward for us. Great goal from TC who has found his shooting boots. Onwards and upwards. COYR.

Huddersfield have much better individuals, but Mansfield are a better team. Well organised, and a tough place to go. Tonight was all about getting the 3 points, and for that you need to work hard, but also have that little bit of quality to make the difference; step forward TC.

How many times did that Sky commentator say they had a goal disallowed 😂. It wasn’t allowed because it never went in!
On that basis, the Godden "goal" in the second half that seemed to go through the net, was disallowed as well  :D

Superb result. Great atmosphere. Out of interest do readings results get removed if they don't find a buyer? I don't wish that on any club but could it benefit us?
