Up to Mansfield seeking another win to keep the run of good form going. A surprise change with Lloyd Jones out with a calf injury brought loanee Tom McIntyre into the back line. Despite a lack of match time, McIntyre slotted in well. The Addicks got off to another good start but it wasn’t until twenty-two minutes had passed that the first goal went in courtesy of a spectacularly bad back pass that gifted Matty Godden a one-on-one chance with the keeper that he summarily dispatched.

Mansfield didn’t give up at any point and their constant pressure caused Charlton a fair few problems. About five minutes before halftime their persistence paid off and they were rewarded with an equaliser when Charlton failed to clear the ball well enough and Matthew Craig volleyed the ball through a congested box giving Will Mannion no chance.

The winner came on after a couple of substitutes and a change in formation that took Tyreece Campbell over to the right. On about 74 minutes substitute Chuks Aneke managed to slide the ball over to Campbell who fought his way past his defender to blast the ball into the goal at the near post. He deserved his reward for some tremendous hard work this evening as Mansfield wrestled and harassed the in-form youngster and gave him no time on the ball throughout.

Charlton managed to hold on but at no point was anything comfortable tonight. It was back and forth and contested throughout, but ultimately, it was a tough away win that keeps pressure on the two above us in the table.

Mansfield 1 Charlton 2

Over to you.

Where's everyone getting this Wrexham equaliser in the 96th minute from? Tel said much the same on commentary.
They equalised in the 58th minute

Very physical Mansfield side which cost them as defender tried to take the man but TC side stepped him to slot the winner….tough game but Wycombe and Wrexham drawing keeps the dream alive

Winning games when not at our most fluent, missing a key player, and against a fairly well-drilled side - when we absolutely have to win - that's the hallmark of a serious contender. Long may this continue.

Wrexham equalised in the 57 minute.  They nearly won it in the 94th minute but the ball went out of play before back in from Elliot Lee corner.

A well dug out win,but wtf was Anderson thinking when he punted the ball straight to their keeper with about a minute left.

I think we can forget automatics but we can focus on coming third just like under Bowyer The main thing is to be the in-form team.

Good result at a type of ground we struggle at. Tight pitch which gives us little room to work in and for the opposition to be able to double up without leaving big gaps.
Campbells goal was absolute class. The balance, the accuracy and the pace. Outstanding goal from an outstanding player.
Other results not too shabby either.

Tough battle that was. They have a couple of really good players so we had to dig in. 5 mins injury time nearly gave me palpations as we all know what we can be like. If Chuks piledriver had gone in it could have made goal of the season, nice little pass to set TC up for his goal. Well done lads, onwards to Saturday with only 5 points off second. We must be the in form team currently ......

Credit to Mansfield. They made it a war and whereas Huddersfield couldn't stand up to our physicality, they did. That little bit of quality did it in the end. I thought Campbell was getting the treatment but his experience is showing and he knows if you don't win every moment, keep going and win the next moment.

If Charlton was a Rolls-Royce on Saturday,  tonight they were more like Del Boy’s three wheeler. Quality was in short supply but TC finally found 4th gear to score a cracker and scoop the 3 points - and that’s all that really matters.

Mansfield battled hard and made us play below our best. I'm always underwhelmed with Berry and Small. All the others had a decent game. I was especially pleased with McIntyre. Shout out for Chuks - he did ok as a sub and pulled off a great shot near the end.
    Lastly: excellent referee.

Not that many would've doubted playoffs were guaranteed. But tonight's results must surely secure top 6 at a minimum

Only need them to each lose a game, and draw another before we face them, and Wycombe have a very tough run in - Regardless of that, we were always going to need to beat them each at their places... So we do that and as tonight has shown, anything is possible.

Wycombe next two games Hudds and reading away, both could be tough gigs for them, before they get us at their place

Really not used to this. After the last few years before NJ we would have lost that game. I was waiting for them to have another shot from distance fly in. But then along came Chuks and TC. Sublime winner and right in front of the away stand. Must learn to have less nerves. NJ has got this team winning even in the grittiest of games.

Pressure fully on Wrexham and Wycombe now, with both us and Stockport gaining more points tonight.

Not a great performance by the sound of things but 3 points all that matters and this team really looking like one that can get something out of nothing.

Had to follow via the match thread, which I’ve not done for a while and won’t be doing again, despite the hard work of those posters that update. Too many minges.

McIntyre good tonight. As we’re Cov and DOC. Thought Mannion did well too

Wycombe's next two games are away to Reading and Huddersfield. Lose them and we may only need a draw to stay ahead of them.

Not a lot wrong with the ref, he is just the only one this season that gives a foul for a shove on a player.
I wonder if it will catch on?
