That will go down as the single worst festival ever for me... 2 winners the whole week and bet on every race. Lumped on 4 short price odds on favourites and none of them came in0

Only 2 out of 7 odds on favourites won and this has been a brilliant Cheltenham festival for the bookies.
As soon as I heard Bet 365 had super boosted Galopin Des Champs I thought 3 gold cups may not happen as they have been so sharp with their daily booster selection.
Emotional rollercoaster since the first race and the Cheltenham soap opera delivered big time with the sadness of Michael O'Sullivan recent passing but many uplifting stories and dramatic finishes.
Great 4 days of sporting action.

That god that’s all over. Terrible week of betting!0

A good day for me today, starting with 150/1 winner (I bet all of 25p each way, it returned £45.50) and managed a six race each way accumulator at odds of about 6/1 and a bunch of doubles from the same six races. Made a profit on three days out of the four. I used a lot of other people's selections taken from here, so thanks to anyone who posted their thoughts.

Usually the weekly trebles/accas help out, especially those that do it months in advance as NRNB, but there was absolutely fuck all this year. Seems the only favs that won were in handicaps.0 - Sponsored links:

Seems the only favs that won were in handicaps. Will probably do the day trip on the Tuesday again next year and then watch at home weds and Thursday and then do a proper lads day up town on the Friday a nice breakfast somewhere then on to a decent pub to watch.Religiously done 2 days a week with an overnight in brum but lot of the lads now have kids so can no longer do it.2 -

Mullins is a master at placing his horses albeit that he has such a massive string of quality animals and a bit of a monopoly in that respect. The really great thing, though, is that we haven't had to see Michael O'Leary celebrating at Cheltenham - the bloke who, in a hissy fit, took all his horses away from Mullins in the hope that it would ruin him. It was probably very difficult for O'Leary to differentiate between "price" and value given that he had a "standard fee" - Ryan Air have a standard price but it doesn't stop them charging if you want something better. He even had to go cap in hand back to Mullins.5 -
Who tipped the winner of the last race. Thanks for that. Up about £250 this year0

4 wins and a place up £50 on the week.
First time ever.1 -

very unexpected Bob, Willie’s biggest price festival winner, bought in October and immediately given 6 weeks rest on arrival in Ireland.I don’t know how he does it !0 -
A very strange Cheltenham the Mullins domination with v little challenge from anyone the amount of shorties that didn’t deliver, the marine nationale and jazzy matty stories were my highlight.Something about this year seemed laboured even attending the 2 days seems the place has lost its buzz, on Thursday for the last 2 races there was barely anyone there, even town afterwards wasn’t as busy as usual0

Had £3 e/w on Wonderwall yesterday, not a big gambler but as we were meeting some friends who like a bet thought I ought to get into the spirit of things....lost in the other 3 races I bet on though.0

I had a pretty bleak festival c£250 down on the week. On the plus side the reduced crowds on Tuesday and Weds made it much more user friendly, easy to get around etc

For me
If your a small time punter there's so many offers from the bookies out there you shouldn't be losing hardly any money at Cheltenham.
3 years ago if I was staking £5 a race it was only costing me £20 a day because of the free bets o was getting.
Even with being restricted by most firms now I've still managed to get through Cheltenham the last 3 years without losing any money.1 -
Up £25 on the week, but all down to Golden Ace really. But i do it for a bit of fun.1

Mullins was asked if he thought Bloom would have had a bet on Poniros and he said 'Not on my advice!"0 -
