These starts are a fucking shambles.
I just don't understand the problem if they're at a gentle canter if they'll all more or less in a line. Just let them go FFS.
A standing start gives rise to many more injustices because they have no momentum. It's fucking obvious. They're 2 mile+ races FFS.

Jonbon struggles with the Cheltenham fences, I went trials day last year and he did exactly the same, wouldn't touch him with a barge pole round Cheltenham

Be interesting if they want to give me anymore free bets for the rest of the festival now
I had free bets for the first three days last year, all winners. Mind you they were £5 free bets, only £2 this year.
    2 from 2 now. 👍

Are the new hurdles causing a problem? They’re supposed to reduce injuries to both horses & jockeys.

Bet 365 have the Midas touch yet again with the super boost on Jonbon today and Constitution hill yesterday and they took multi millions as punters took the bait.

    And again.
Every standing start they've had has left at least 1 runner meaningfully disadvantaged.

This Cheltenham festival just gets even more bonkers, as the 2 horses that Michael O'Sullivan won on 2 years ago win consecutive races.
    You couldn't make it up.

Had a decent sized bet on marine nationale as did not fancy Jonbon at all.

I do find with Hendersons superstars just don’t turn up on the main stages and need perfect conditions all the time.

My 4 selections for tomorrow's last, the 26f Kim Muir handicap:

Walking On Air (8/1) - from GN royalty (Lastofthebrownies, Gilgamboa, Any Second Now and Corach Rambler)
Mint Boy (11/1) - related to Monbeg Dude
Sine Nomine (33/1) - C&D winner, related to a top stayer of the early 90s Run For Free
    Wiseguy (33/1)
Walking On Air now fav and best price 5/1, with Michael O'Sullivan's brother on board, making his Festival debut.
    No funky starts, PLEASE!

I had 12 bets today and ended up £2.50 down. Tomorrow will be better. Or worse.

    2.40  feet of a Dancer.

3.20  Fact to file.  Envoi Allen

    4.00  nemean lion.

    4.40  Individualiste.

    5.20   St. Majeste.

    Good luck everyone.

Thursday is always the toughest (although the first two days this year haven't exactly turned out to be easy!) - here are today's losers:

    1.20 Galileo Dame
    2.00 Caldwell Potter, Insurrection (EW)
    2.40 Catch Him Derry (EW)
    3.20 Djelo (EW)
    4.00 Lucky Place
    4.40 Jagwar
    5.20 Mint Boy (EW)

1.20 Maughreen and Bluey small e/w
2.00 Firefox win, Lord of Thunder e/w
2.40 Win Some Lose Some and Super Survivor e/w
3.20 hmmmmmm. Protektorat I think. Envoi Allen back round here at 14s is tempting each way as well, but if I had to pick just one, Protektorat
4.00 I think Teahupoo wins this and that’s my main bet, but I’m having a small tickle on Crambo e/w as 25/1 or thereabouts for him to jump cleanly could well see him run into a place
4.40 if I’m honest, fuck knows really. Path Doroux and Shakem Uparry each way but nothing big.
5.20 again, no idea. Wiseguy and Sa Majeste. Mint Boy a possible third if I have some spare change

Yet another runner fucked by a standing start.
Sorry to sound like a broken record but the rules are fucking nuts.
Let them go if it’s a canter FFS.
