I quite agree however if you are going to quote what we have been told then you need to include what was said last week and that was no loans and any additions would add quality to the squad.Redrobo said:
We were told we would reduce the squad size and bring in one, maybe two, players in that would improve the squad. That is exactly what has happened.eaststandmike said:
I would say more realistic than miserable, not everyone looks through rose tinted glasses.Redrobo said:God we have some miserable gits on here.
I think the vast majority wanted us to bring in an attacking midfielder. It appears we have, but as nobody has actually seen him play we will have to wait and see.
He apparently can cover several areas across the forward areas so can cover injuries.
I am happy to wait and see. Does that mean it is me looking through rose tinted glasses?
Now I sincerely hope the two new lads hit the ground running and help us get promotion however nobody knows what will happen because they have hardly played or been injured.
It hardly screams quality, more a case of fingers crossed they work out3 -

Blimey, Gilbert could do with some Tyreece body building - he's bean pole skinny.
I've seen more fat on a cold chip.

When Jimmy FH scored against Chelsea at the valley, ok you don't have to celebrate but he looked like he was about to cry. Darren Bent assist down the Jimmy Seed end from memory.0 -

Did we not pay a loan fee for him? With that alongside what NJ has said about reluctance to use loans unless they add quality, I’d like to think there’s some confidence he’s going to do the business for us.
Not every loan will work out but I’ve got a good feeling about this one.2 -

You should've heard some of the nicknames Johnnie Jackson had from Charlton players. I believe he couldn't even do a press-up.Oggy Red said:Blimey, Gilbert could do with some Tyreece body building - he's bean pole skinny.

no, lets keep him lean and nimble - let him float around that final third like a butterfly, stinging likea bee - docherty's top heavy and only runs in straight linesgrumpyaddick said:Get the lad on the Doc Docherty meat pie and Guinness diet asap.2 -
Think soapbox might be thinking of JFH's goal against Middlesbrough which was down the Jimmy Seed end.ElfsborgAddick said:JohnnyH2 said:

Nope, Middlesbrough is not spelt Chelsea.

When her scored at Stamford Bridge he looked mortified. Which was very annoying, as I was sitting with my Chelsea mates.soapboxsam said:Pelling1993 said:

That must have been a frosty atmosphere! Maybe that's why Diawara was wearing gloves that afternoon?!JamesSeed said:

I did not say he improves the squad, I was merely repeating what we were told, and I think we both agree that we will have to wait and see.ElfsborgAddick said:

Untried from the smokies, the other one has had a mixed response from Portsmouth supporters.
My reply was to the suggestion that I was seeing things this transfer through rose tinted glasses as I was not miserable about it.
If someone has seen him play a few times and thinks he’s cack fine. I just don’t get being negative until we are able to judge properly.2 -

I just don’t get being negative until we are able to judge properly.I would say that the main problem is that we have not gone out and brought in established players of better quality.By not doing this, the players coming in bring disappointment.Granted, once they start kicking a ball perhaps we'll get a better judgement.0 -
If he can kick a ball he's immediately an upgrade on Allan Campbell.ElfsborgAddick said:Redrobo said:

I’m not disagreeing with you mate but also if you look at the last few years pretty much all of the established players haven’t set the world alight whereas a few of the unknowns have been decent so I’m not sure it’s wise to write off the latest twoElfsborgAddick said:Redrobo said:

Spoke to a Middlesbrough fan today (who weirdly was woking for the Chelsea FC Foundation). Asked him what he thought of Gilbert and he said he really rated him and hoped he comes back to them at the end of his loan. He said he had a great range of passing and could beat a man driving forward. I think he might be a good 'un. I'm looking forward to watching him on Saturday13

I did go to a lot of Chelsea v Charlton games over the decades and like many on CL of a certain vintage hard to remember, but I do remember all the finer points. Hales, Bartlett and Lisbie scoring in winning performances at the odious Chelsea are still clear. Definitely felt like the valley 🤔 but as Fat arse Jimmy only scored 2 in 25 apps I'm clearly mistaken 🤷🏻♂️0 -
Can’t be true. He’s rubbish and been forced on Nathan Jones because we’re skint.BartramBlitz said:Spoke to a Middlesbrough fan today (who weirdly was woking for the Chelsea FC Foundation). Always find it bizarre why posters feel the need to exaggerate other users contributions.
I’ve a good feeling on Gilbert, think this may prove one of our better loans.5 -

Thanks for the evidence Johnny H2 👏🏻
The funniest or most worrying thing for me is not that it was the Bridge and not the Valley but despite remembering the goal by JFH and non celebration, I thought it was an assist from Darren Bent and not Dennis Rommedahl. A strange mistake to make 🤦🏿♂️🤦🏼♂️
