I wonder if some of the thinking is to have a squad that is more suited to being built on for next season. The chances of reaching the play offs and going up are less than 1 in 4, so clearing some space makes sense.2

REG spent his three prior seasons in the Champ. I'm sure he's not content to be a squad player at this level.

To be fair, if we've managed to get a bit of a fee for REG that's probably some decent business
That would be the sort of outgoing where I'd expect both teams to just transfer the contract and save the hassle2 -

Are you sure you are not confusing him with Holmes? McIntyre left Reading for £75K last Jan and their fans have very mixed opinions of him

I think I’d have preferred Riley Towler from Pompey. Also a left centre back they were looking to loan out. I’m guessing we had the choice of one or the other0
