My constructive contribution here is that my local, the Fox & Hounds on Kirkdale, is undergoing a change of management this week, which is a huge shame cos I really like the guy who runs it. He used to do the pre-match pizzas at the Anchor & Hope if any of you did that. Think it was just not getting the turnover he needed. Dread what they'll do with it0

I think the guy who works behind the bar in the Bugle is going there to manage it, i was chatting to him last week, and he said he was looking into it.Leuth said:My constructive contribution here is that my local, the Fox & Hounds on Kirkdale, is undergoing a change of management this week, which is a huge shame cos I really like the guy who runs it. Saw somewhere today that they had already moved machinery in to take it down.Gribbo said:

Sam Smiths pub, so
a) it's probably shite (unfortunately, especially as it's unique)
b) the owners are batshit crazy, with a history of downright weird behaviour - so good luck anyone trying to get an answer from them as to why it's closed or what happens to it next.1 -

Angerstein going apparently, that's going to matchdays fun0

I think it’s a listed building, although an unexpected fire or being left to rot and then claim it’s unsafe will get around that.SuedeAdidas said:

Only been in there once about 3 years ago, was good but a little bit worn out.0 -
Really? They've just spent a small fortune redecorating the inside and outsideRock Spectacle said:Angerstein going apparently, that's going to matchdays fun0 -
Alas it’s not listed nor does it have ACV status. Ironic as the area was named after the pub. As @Off_it says above, good luck getting an answer out of Sam Smith and I don’t believe they have sent any communication out about it.DaveMehmet said:

Wouldn't be hugely surprising as the hotel side of it looks like it's been propping up the pub for years,Rock Spectacle said:

For sure, this pub is my closest local, just closer that the River, and it only ever has about 10 punters in and half of them are overseas workers staying in the hotel.InspectorSands said:

God knows how! It’s worse than a Thai backpacker hostel. The shower units are downright dangerous. I’m surprised that that place gets through health and safety regulations.InspectorSands said:

Fuckin hell. How many safety protocols do you have to overlook for THAT to happenR0TW said:0 -
You need to tell your mate that he needs to get a grip of the Volly. A fair few weeks since I have been in there, and I was hearing rumours that it had become drug city. Went in there last night and it was grim. The few in there were openly dealing, and also quite comfortable taking it off their hands. A few people walked in and walked straight back out. As I said earlier in the thread, it has thrived on the reputation of being a nice local .............. but it was far from that last night.R0TW said:4 -
To be fair, he is more concerned about his lack of a foot at the moment.1905 said:

The scarceness of stewarding, and the overall amount of people present.
There must have been 4 guns waiting on each bay. 10 bays, 20 traps.
Take into account that each gun may have been shared by up to 4 people.
160+ people the morning after Boxing Day.
Thought the bays were too close together.
Still doesn’t excuse the incompetent prick who let the gun off.
Mate laying there for a good 20/30 mins awaiting ambulance, who was awaiting firearm police.
Lucky an ex serviceman assisted with slowing the blood flow.
Fucking awful day.1 -
Ok - once his foot is sorted, tell him to sort my local out.R0TW said:

In all seriousness a lot of chit chat circulating about whether the co-operative still have their hearts in it. Shame if it does go - but I know where my money is.1
