So, Wembley wasn't to be this year,🤦‍♂️ sounds a bit repetitive that one doesn't it, oh well the league it is eh...
Today we have yet another encounter with the North of England, this time Rotherham Utd are our hosts, as we journey to the AESSEAL New York Stadium this afternoon, The Millers currently  sit two places and three points below us in the table having played one game more than us, and will provide some stern opposition.
In his pre-match press conference, Jones said: "We’re in a better place in terms of getting people back", so some positivity there, we should today see the return of AMB and Leaburn, (well done on getting The Player of the Month for December Miles) return to the stating eleven, maybe Ramsay could make the bench or better after getting back to fitness.

We've gone toe-to-toe on 39 previous occasions, claiming 14 wins, the Millers 14 and the remaining 11 meetings resulting in draws, In the reverse fixture, Chuks Aneke’s sublime second-half strike earned us a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw, Steve Evans' side are unbeaten in their last five.

We will be wearing the yellow away kit in south Yorkshire.

So, here we go...

Team news..

Tyreece Campbell will make his 100th appearance this afternoon, as Nathan Jones names the same XI for today’s game at Rotherham United that have started Charlton’s last four league games.

The 21-year-old made his Addicks debut in 2022 at The Valley against Oxford United and has netted 10 goals and registered nine assists for the men’s first-team since then.

It means the Addicks are likely to once again line-up with Alex Mitchell, Lloyd Jones and Macaulay Gillesphey in a back three in front of Ashley Maynard-Brewer.

Thierry Small and Josh Edwards are likely to operate again as wing-backs with Luke Berry, Conor Coventry and skipper Greg Docherty playing in a midfield three behind a front two of Miles Leaburn, who was named EA Sports FC EFL Young Player of the Month on Friday, and Tyreece Campbell.

The Addicks' bench is made up of Will Mannion, Rarmani Edmonds-Green, Karoy Anderson, Allan Campbell, Chuks Aneke, Matty Godden and Daniel Kanu.

Charlton: Maynard-Brewer; A.Mitchell, Jones, Gillesphey; Small, Coventry, Berry, Docherty (c), Edwards; Leaburn, T.Campbell

Subs: Mannion, Edmonds-Green, Anderson, A.Campbell, Aneke, Godden, Kanu

Kanu and Enslin both travelled and can’t see Hylton in any pics/videos so expecting one of them on the bench

We are now almost anchored in settled team waters.
  • Unchanged team (league-wise) - tick
Kanu on the bench rather than Hylton - tick

Why is A Campbell on the bench when he is supposed to be leaving?
Have we not got any other midfield players available?

Godden must be wondering if he will ever start another game for us, as we seem to have found our preferred line up,...

Is he definitely off? We've got him on a season long loan and its down to Luton to recall him. Only other experienced midfielder is Taylor, who I'd prefer to AC on the bench, but I suspect Jones doesn't rate him and is trying to offload him again (didn't they try to offload him and Edun in the summer too).

Money well spent on Alfie's replacements.

Aneke, Godden & Kanu way ahead of him so no room on the bench

Hopefully have a club interested in him, even if it is only a loan.

Well, I'm still in gloomy grey draughty Marseille, south of France.

I'm temporarily an international fan, according to club criteria - is it worth buying the stream or not?

    Answers on a postcard, please.

@Oggy Red depends whether your enjoyment relies on seeing us win, seeing us play great football, or watching the two managers having a barney on the touchline :)

    This.

We have 6 fit strikers. Ahadme is 5th or 6th (depending on whether you dare to risk Aneke).

His performance on Tues was a bit overrated... Expectations of him are very low and so he's starting to get plaudits for doing simple things.

Excellent that Kanu is on the bench, as he's the only one of our backup strikers with pace. It was daft having Chuks and Ahadme both on the bench, as that just encourages hoofball.
