    Best, Law, Charlton.... there's a reason he's bracketed with those two greats of the game. He was a wonderful player, and possibly the first not to celebrate a winning goal when he back heeled a late winner that relegated United. RIP

    Oh dear.
    An absolute great, one of my heroes.
    Unbelievably skilled player, and a great innovator.
    Possibly the greatest Scottish player from a country that has produced plenty of great players.
    RIP Denis, you won't be forgotten.

    Whilst a fantastic footballer, not a fan of him personally. Despite playing and earning the vast majority of his career/money in England, stated that our WC win in 66 was the blackest day of his life. If he hated us that much, why didn’t he fuck off and play somewhere else?

    Denis Law was at our famous 7-6 victory against Huddersfield Town.
    He was a Huddersfield player under the then manager the great Bill Shankly. Denis Law was injured for that game, and was sat in the dugout. He mentions it in his autobiography, and describes Shankly getting more and more twitchy and agitated as Summers did his stuff.

    Great, great player and proud Scot.
    Part of the Utd holy trinity Best, Charlton and Law.
    Wouldn't watch the 66 world cup final because England were in it and played golf that afternoon instead.
    Scored the goal for Man City, of all teams, that relegated Utd to the old second division, and if memory serves me right walked straight off the pitch.
    Can only presume he was injured for the 68 European Cup Final.
    A true legend of the game, RIP Lawman.

    I feel privileged to have seen him play.
    'The King ', a fabulous player.
    Possibly Erik Cantona could be on his level ?
    While I was chauffeuring I had the privilege to drive him from LWT studios Southbank across Waterloo Bridge to The Aldwich.
     Was disappointed not to have longer with The King!

    Rip.

    An iconic moment. It seems ironic that he now has a statue behind that stand when this was his last act at Old Trafford. Iirc he briefly featured for Scotland in the 74 World Cup ,but he never played in the league again.
