Hunter attacks Bower’s corner from the right, Swansea clear for another corner.

Swansea just about manage to clear the third corner.

Fullah puts a good ball across the Swansea box but he’s offside. Asiimwe was trying to get on the end of it for a tap in

The second half has been more or less Charlton attack verses Swansea defence.

Dixon back to goal lays off to Fullah but he puts over the bar.

3-1 Fullah from a thoughtful Wales cross.
    Been coming.

    3-1 lovely move.

Asiimwe sends Wales away into our right of Swansea’s box, he cuts it across to Fullah who finishes well.

Now Kedwell and Dixon, both who have been excellent, off for Reid and Mwamba.

This has finished 3-1 to us. It has been a lovely Friday afternoon treat.

Managed to catch most of that. Very enjoyable and the two goal margin was well deserved after a dominant second half performance. There were several good performances out there.

The style of football is something of a contrast to that deployed by the first team, albeit we’ve seen more attempts at passing the ball in the last few weeks.

A very good watch, some good performances, Dixon full of tricks, get a pre season under his belt and next year he might be the one to watch. Fullah, Rylal and Wales also stood out for me.

Swans use it like a corner, we block, then they hit the cross bar. Full time 3-1, good performance but we’d have scored a few more on another day with better finishing.

Second half we created a lot without completely dominating possession. When we lost it, it wasn’t long before we won it back.

Fullah loves a one two and has potential as a goalscoring midfielder.

Wales is one of those you can quickly get the type of player he is. A small slight midfielder will pass and move with close control, Spanish or Jonny Williams style.

Dixon has something about him but I wouldn’t say he stands out as miles above Casey and Mbick in previous u21 games. Three different types of strikers but all score goals at this level. Someone to develop rather than immediately throw in the first team.

Enslin a good reliable all round player as usual in these games.

Kedwell very steady, wouldn’t surprise me if he went on loan again like last season as the challenge might be good for him. Same with Asiimwe.

Edun very comfortable as you’d expect but without being outstanding.

The defence will want to learn from the goal they conceded with no one managing to intercept the cross.

I was also at the game this afternoon, very entertaining & probably a fair result.
Ipswich must have the tallest side in the league with most of their players over 6ft & one defender was about 6ft 6ins.
I thought Ollie Hobden was outstanding, especially in the 1st half & Toby Bower is the best free kick taker we have at the club.

We need to bring on Bower for kicking duties.

Oh, sorry, thought I was still on the NFL thread.
  • Well done to the 21s, really hope we can get the likes of Enslin and Dixon knocking on the doors of the match day squad, but I hope next year if we hold onto them they will hit the ground running, great talent!

Fullah on his goal vs Birmingham. Still doesn’t know his preferred foot!

It was a good afternoon to be at Sparrows Lane.

When I got there Patrick Casey was out on the grass. Taking shots on the run and then running around the pitch several times.

Charlton started well and could have scored several goals before Swansea got in front.

Dixon was much more involved today and his speed is amazing. He covered a lot of the pitch today. Not ready for the first team at the moment. He needs to build on his strength.

Hobden is a very good utility player. Good ball control and playing out of defence today.

Kedwell had a better game today but tends to foul too much.

Bower's long passes to running attackers were real class. His set pieces were good as usual.

The away game against Leeds today is in fact at the LNER community Stadium, York, and is a league game event though you might easily think it's a cup game.

    From Sky bet:

    Home win 6/5.

    Draw 3/1.

    Away win; 6/4

12’ GOALLLLLLLL | Ollie Hobden fires us in front! The wing-back latches onto a loose ball in the box, slotting in from close range to establish our lead in the Premier League Cup.
