Recently watched Cross (8 episodes) it was pretty good but kind of dragged on a bit towards the end....but would still recommend it.

Finished the final episode of Yellowstone. It's an entertaining and visually stunning series, but infuriates with its repetitive story points and implausible character choices. Beth, in particular, embodies that more than anyone, and must stand out as one of the most overplayed and absurd characters I've seen in a drama. Stil, overall it was a decent watch, especially the earlier seasons, which were gripping.I felt the show really struggled after the death of John Dutton (Kevin Costner's character) and Jimmy - perhaps one of the only truly sympathetic characters, finds his screen time severely limited after moving off the ranch.1

Nigella- at my table
So I settle down to watch Nigellas take on simple recipes that are, apparently relaxingly simple to prepare.
First recipe, a carrot cake.
First ingredient - crystallised ginger!
Oh do f**k off Nigella-! :-)3 -
halfway through Cross on Amazon Prime
quite enjoying it so far.1 -

Just finished latest series of Strike. Nowhere near as good as the previous series, in fact it’s a bit meh. Leads put in a decent shift, but let down by a poor story the screenwriter had to interpret.3

It's my least favourite book of the series, the online forum stuff was painful. Sandwiched by the best two books IMHO, and Running Grave could translate really well to TV.0 -

I also have read the book & found it the least enjoyable of the series .....difficult to understand at times.
I told Mr F last night that was my opinion and after watching the 1st episode for 20 mins, he fell asleep ....
Decided we can't be bothered to watch any further.1 -

I will admit to have not read any of the books, but I love the series and although probably the weakest plot line, The Ink Black Heart was very enjoyable. By all accounts The Running Grave is being adapted for TV so if you bookworms say it is one of the best then I'll look forward to seeing it.

Thought Ink Black Heart was decent now I've watched it, better than the book! Helps it's 4 episodes not 2 now.0

Finally caught up with both Chernobyl and Masters of the Air these last couple of weeks, as never really got around to watching either
Both really good series, and whilst Masters of the Air doesnt have the same pull that Band of Brothers had, its still a good series.
Naturally its difficult to cover that theatre of the War when they're pretty much doing the same sort of mission each time, so thought they got a really good balance between covering events in the Air, and down on the ground at the same time - Equally thought at first that the moment when the POW's were walking through a German Town and got attacked was false, and whilst one of the main characters wasnt there, I was surprised to find out that it was pretty much true, and was good to have it highlighted!!

Just finished La Palma on Netflix. Worst series I've watched all year. Advise not to bother wasting 4 hours of your time if haven't seen it yet.0

That said, I really liked the blonde assassin (Williams) character. She had some great lines.2 -
Has anyone started watching the second season of Squid Game yet?0

Finished squid game series 2 last night - a right load of old shite. That Thanos has to be the most irritating character in the history of tv. If I was in there, I’d have killed him long before any of the games could have finished him off.1

Chernobyl is probably the best miniseries I have ever seen. It's an incredible piece of TV.

Seems to be a year of releases for the Count of Monte Cristo.
First the French film, and now a TV Series, not sure where the latter can be viewed as a I opted to sail the seven seas
But its excellent viewing - Looks to be the closest so far to the book, what with the 2024 and 2002 releases
If ever you come across it... Give it a watch.0
