My late Dad and I knew Kevin only fleetingly around the time of our exile to Croydon.
Always a cheery smile and some friendly banter from Kevin whenever our paths crossed.
The quality of his work was there for all to see - absolutely outstanding.
RIP Kevin.

This is very sad news, and I know first hand how well thought of he was at the club and by all involved from a press and comms side over the years. Rest in peace Kevin and thoughts with his family and loved ones.2

Great sports writer and very friendly gentleman. RIP0

Very sad. Got to know Kevin and his wife Hazel well on the coach over the years. A fantastic journalist and a lovely man.Regaled me with some great stories including a trip away to Hull that left on a Friday night, the coach breaking down and not returning home until Sunday morning.
He was of course, also at the famous 7-6 against Huddersfield
His frank views of how piss poor we’ve been over the last few years always made me laugh.
Thoughts and prayers with his family and friends5 -
RIP. He said it how it was, pretty rare in this day and other ages.1

RIP. Win, lose or draw, I always enjoyed reading his report on our matches.2

RIP Kevin really enjoyed your reports one line I will always remember was a brilliant description of Neville Southall the Everton keeper reporting on a game at Selhurst along the line of
“Andy Jones seemed certain to score till a dirty bag of washing dived to the right to make a brilliant save”
Kevin had a wonderful turn of phrase will be sadly missed9 - Sponsored links:

An absolute diamond. He and Hazel always had time for my Dad, having a joke with him before and after home games. An excellent reporter on Charlton games who avoided clichés and really got our club. A big loss to the Charlton family. RIP Kevin.1

Very sad to hear this news, I knew Kevin through my dad - they were great friends for many years.

That is really terrible news. A quite brilliant journalist, with a sublime turn of phrase and a great sense of humour. His match reports were legendary and I always found them uplifting, even when Charlton's performance had been dire.
RIP Kevin and sincere condolences to his family and friends.4 -
Oh no, that's really sad news.
I always used to look forward to and love his reports in the Mercury back in the day. A great loss to the Charlton family.2 -
Mrs P and I saw Kevin and Hazel on the 261 bus only about three weeks ago and exchanged our usual pleasantries.
I feel for Hazel, another true Charltonian because of Kevin, she will be broken by this.
An awful terribly sad day.8
