We’d have gone down anyway, we were shit once Connor Gallagher left and Taylor went on strike, it was only the inevitable, maybe a season later , I mean we could cherry pick better than that, scum flying high , maybe even topped the second tier 1995/6 and two Halley’s Comet victories by us over the scum see them relegated on goal difference last game of the seasonMillwallFan said:
Almost as beautiful as your lot getting relegated from the championship by one point on the last day of the season. Knowing that if Matt Smith hadn’t had scored that injury time winner at the Den you would have probably stayed up. We probably wouldn’t have won the play offs even if we had beaten Blackburn but the difference that Matt Smith goal made to your fortunes is immeasurable. As the great man once said, funny ol’ game innit. 😁oohaahmortimer said:That blackburn match was a thing of beauty , not quite at Stern John in the last minute levels but a joy to behold3 -
You were doing alrite with that list until the reality kicked in…win at The Den…🙄killerandflash said:
And the 3rd March 2051, when after winning 15 Premier Leagues, 10 Champions Leagues, 12 FA Cups and 5 World Club Championships, we finally win at The Den.ElfsborgAddick said:

More chance of the first four than the last one 😂1

95/96 was funnier. If we didn't do the double over them and one of them was a draw they would have stayed up. For extra comedic pleasures they were top of the league on Boxing day.oohaahmortimer said:That blackburn match was a thing of beauty , not quite at Stern John in the last minute levels but a joy to behold5 -
Tempting bad karma on a relegation thread now almost guarantees relegation for you lot, missing safety by 5 points and you look back and say ‘if only Charlton were still in the Championship we’d have had another 6 points…’MillwallFan said:

We was 11th on Boxing Day. We was last top that season on the 9th of Dec. That’s how rapid the fall was. I’m still traumatised. 😢Friend Or Defoe said:

anyway, let’s not talk about that, it’s all about the now isn’t it!! 😁9 -
The fact they managed a draw with Ipswich on the final day, which put us in the playoffs as well. When a 2-0 win for Ipswich would have put them ahead of us.Friend Or Defoe said:

We won't mention what happened in the playoffs though.3 -
Didn't we play/beat you just before the 9th? 🤔MillwallFan said:

Yes. The Tuesday before. The 5th. Not that the dates etched on my mind or anything 😞Friend Or Defoe said:

I'd start a Palarse one, but my mental health is already hanging by a thread!1

Could those pricks go down this season? If there’s a god, please 🙏🏻soapy_jones said:I'd start a Palarse one, bit my mental health is already hanging by a thread!11 -

Millwall Palace derby would be taster - all the West Ham waiting to turn up will be well up for it.2 -
I’d prefer a Charlton - Palace derby next season (and I’m not talking about playing their U21s)1
-
Never say never of course but the West Ham v Millwall derby is starting to look increasingly unlikely going forward. As for Palace, they’re a club that could find themselves back in The Championship but financially I think they’re unfortunately light years ahead of both Millwall and Charlton. Best chance I think of a South London derby is Charlton hauling themselves back into the second tier. I don’t see Millwall winning promotion to The Prem or getting relegated.0

If Palace went down, they ought to be able to bounce straight back, in a season or two but it's not guaranteed.
I'm amazed that Stoke for example have been such a mess since they went down.1 -
Nigel’s won’t go down , they seem to do this every season, start poorly then end up 13th0
-
I thought we'd bounce back straight away or within a couple of seasons when we got relegated from the Premier League, hasn't quite worked out the way I thought.killerandflash said:If Palace went down, they ought to be able to bounce straight back, in a season or two but it's not guaranteed.

We’re just making a slower bounce back. Dowie always thought we had bouncebackability.iaitch said:

After being relegated from the PL, it did only take us a couple of seasons to get out of the Championship...iaitch said:

As I called it. And why I said somewhere else on the thread that you can’t take too much notice of results in the first few games.MillwallFan said:
Not that bad. Performances have been good. Results not so much. They’ll come. If we was playing badly I’d be worried. We’ll be fine.stonemuse said:5 -

Crazy stat, we conceded more goals in the first two games than we have in the following 11. Tanganga missed those first two games. He is a massive signing for us.oohaahmortimer said:MillwallFan said:

Your leaky defence at the start of the season was very surprising for a Harris Millwall side, so I'm not surprised you're now back to grinding out the wins with few goals conceded. Since the start of OctoberMillwallFan said:

I’ve backed Millwall +30 in the league handicap market so finishing 7th would be ideal.
especially if the last day of the season is a repeat of the Blackburn game.
