I'm not keen on Campbell being our first choice striker at all. Surely it should be Godden for now.2 -

Surely it should be Godden for now.The points he looks dangerous for us are in the one one situations by the byline where he can potentially beat someone and flash something across the box. He doesn’t look like scoring and when he’s playing with ahadme who needs to handball it in from the goal line to get on target… we need some goal threats.3 -

But in fairness, we need to change our pattern of play to give either of them workable service. Either have 1 of the CM higher up to support, or stop pumping it up front before we can get more players up the pitch. Hoofing it up to 2 outnumbered strikers isn't working.0 -

Or would it have been just about cleared by a Shrews player on the line?0 -
I think it was probably just about dropping inside the post but it would’ve been dreadful play by Ahadme if he’d left it and it didn’t in. He was absolutely in the right to make sure we scored.12

It's too hard to tell from a single angle, but I feel the defender would have cleared it.
During the game it was being made out as if Ahadme effectively nicked somebody else's goal. He needed to ensure it hit the net.5 - Sponsored links:

A goal from a set piece is a refreshing happenstance.
I predict we will score at least one this season following an Edwards long throw.
I still think Coventry can improve his dead ball kicks, but yesterday signs of improvement were there.
Ahadme is quite handy in those situations.3 -
As one of his biggest critics I though he had his best game so far. He was effective at both ends of the pitch.
Let's hope he can push on and prove what we paid for him.5 -

I've watched our goal a number of times and whilst it's not clear, it looks to me like the ball goes in the net off Ahadme's bicep, so would have been disallowed if spotted.
#just an observation and if it did so much the better.0 -

Fraid the jury have now reached their decision, the geezer is absolute toilet. Should be looking to shift him in Jan as a priority.4

Useless. Not even good at his supposed strengths, even worse in every other department.5

Chuks shows you what a big front man should do. For all Gas' hard work, he's largely ineffective

Showed more technique with the own-goal than the goal he actually has scored for us.5

Lloyd Jones today showed that he is a better centre forward than this guy. No question.4

Actually had some decent moments of hold up play in the first half which would have been noticed had we won. Own goal is always going to stand out though.
Can’t wait until Leaburn’s fit to start and Ahadme has to really step up to get that spot.8 -
Good that he's kicked on from that all important first goal.1

Christ. You say give them time but this is competitive sport. You have to take your chances. He's started how many games? He's been absolutely woeful. Even Lloyd Jones up front in the last 15 did more than him.2

I really do hope that Leaburn matches the expectations of the fans, and of course doesnt have a recurrence of his injury (e.g. hasn't turned into Aneke mk2) - Just feel that there is a huge weight of pressure being put on Miles' shoulders given his First Team experience, and age.
Reminds me of when I used to say that we'd be a different beast back in 2019-20 the moment we had Inniss and Famewo back from injury... Players are always better when they're not playing.

He wasn’t the problem today. Got zero help from Kanu and A. Campbell who were meant to be his supporting cast in the first half.
There wasn’t a massive amount of difference between how we controlled the start of the second half when Ahadme was up front compared to how we finished the second half with Aneke up front.
Obviously we looked dangerous when Blackpool shut up shop and camped in their 18 yard box lol19 -
He clearly isn't a large target man. If that is the job we bought him to do we should look at the recruitment which has failed again. Aimless long ball punts to him are illogical but we continue to persist.

He was ok in the first half, offered more than Kanu. It is obvious that we've overspent on him though, not his fault that but people are gonna hold him to expectations that i doubt he will reach0
-
He's not the problem with our performances at all. He's just not a very good player either.
Both can be true.3 -
