Just back from Iceland where lager was about £7.50 - £8.50 for what I would guess is 2/3 of a pint.

Before that time, patrons of O'Neill's on Wardour Street in Soho pay £7.40 for certain draught beers, with the same drink costing £9.40 after the cut-off.
Mitchells & Butlers, the pub group that owns the venue, said the policy reflected a request from the police and local council "that we increase prices after 10pm to a level generally in line with the late-night market".

Around where I work it's now £8 a pint on average and I'm resigned to the fact that probably by 2030 we will hit £10 a pint.
On a side note I tried to buy a couple of cans in an off licence in Bexleyheath a few weeks ago after leaving the pub. I was refused in three shops not for being too drunk but because they don't sell alcohol after 10pm anymore. Is this a new thing everywhere or was it just a easy excuse to get rid of me!?0 -

The west end is a bit off these days, there aren’t that many pubs open late so you don’t have much choice if you fancy a drink (unless you’re going to some nightclub in soho). I was there a few months ago and fancied a couple of pints after dinner and ended up having to go to that casino in Leicester Sq.blackpool72 said:

Is £9.40 really that expensive ? I'm sure there's a Wetherspoons or Sam Smiths open somewhere, if you don't want to pay £9.40 for a pint don't drink there ?3

Their prices went up a fair bit during/after covid....I know that's the same for most pubs but they were cheap (in comparison to most west end pubs)....prior to covid.cafcdave123 said:
