Mine is probably Jamie Vardy - came up from non league, made the very most of his talent, always looks like he is busting a gut for his team

Past, the likes of  Malcolm MacDonald, Cyrille Regis, Glenn Hoddle, Peter Beardsley and Matt Le Tissier

Plenty of current ones I like, but can't think of a favourite.

Eric Cantona. For obvious reasons but he's not my favourite.

Francis Lee fine athletic figure, shot like a cannon and dirty with it.

As a kid I loved football Italia there was so many players in the 90s and early 2000s that I admired. Del piero, totti, maldini, barasi and so many others. I followed Italian football more than English for a while.

Messi would realistically be the most recent and the most talented. His early years at Barcelona when sky used to show the matches on a Sunday. I would meet my dad every sunday at my local at the time the rising sun Lewisham to watch Messi and co in la Liga. Just in awe of his ability. We used to be the only fuckers in there apart from one dodgy bloke playing pool by himself. He might of had a split personality, all I remember is how annoyed he got when he lost.

Loved watching Batistuta as a kid for Fiorentina on Football Italia. Then R9 Ronaldo after that.
