The snooker starts on Saturday! Excellent. Summer is nearly here.0

Can't wait, but dont see too many first round shocks.
Form players this year Trump/ Ronnie and Allen , are the ones to beat, i would back Trump as i think he's the most consistent, although Ronnie has won a high amount of tournaments he's been in, he has had bad sessions and got away with it, you can't really afford to do it at the Crucible.
Neil Robertson lost 10-9 in the final qualifying, which is a massive shame.
I am sure as ever there will be plenty of shocks along the way and a great 2 and half weeks ahead.
PS. wheres @paulie8290

I think this is exactly where you can get away with it, given the long nature of the matches - have a bad session on a best of 9 and you're outjohnnybev1987 said:Can't wait, but dont see too many first round shocks.

I will still be watching as i have done with every tournament this year, watched all the qualifiers however with everything going on atm talks of splits, the Saudi stuff(which ROS seems to have upset a few of his own fans with talk about an own goal 🤦♂️) I do wonder how this tournament plays out and how snooker in general looks this time next year

I mean come on who is the main sponser here, Cazoo or Riyadh
If I was Cazoo and saw this photo I would be looking through contract for a get out instantly

I do wonder if snooker is about to eat itself. Used to be glued to this. Now I wouldn’t recognise the majority of the players if they walked past me in the street. When Ronnie finally reaches the end of his road it will be a personality free zone.0

Gutted Robertson didn’t make it - my favourite player
will have to cheer on the mad Iranian but he has a tough draw.Anyone bit Higgins ( I have even started warming to Shaun Murphy recently)
More importantly, am behind Team Eurosport1 -

enjoying this so far. the 2 matches that really stood out for me when the draw was made, Si vs Williams and Ding vs Lisowski have not disappointed, both going to a decider2
-
lots of deciders, seeds falling, so far pretty exciting... Ronnie up next!
I do think all this talk of a new tour and a few of the older players saying they might retire is not quite taking the shine of a so far great World Championship. Still lots of twists / upsets no doubt, i predict Trump but would love Ronnie. Si's win against MJW was really impressive when Williams fought back and played well and a one visit kill in the decider, last nights was a scrappy one with Milkins stumbling over the line against Pang, I missed Ding/ Lisowski but it looks like it was a very good match, i am in the office so will miss the start of Ronnie but hopefully see tomorrows session.
Bit gutted for Selby, great win by Joe O Connor and i do hope he doesn't retire and maybe he just picks and chooses events a bit like Ronnie does.0 -
I think players should be able to do this once they’ve played in the top, say, 32 for enough years. What that ‘enough’ is I’m not sure.johnnybev1987 said:lots of deciders, seeds falling, so far pretty exciting... Ronnie up next!

It's a tricky one when fans book up so far in advances and also WST don't really want to lose out to other tours. I think some might have earnt the right or use loopholes, but any other tours/ exhibitions ultimately take away from the main tour. Tough spot for World Snooker to find the happy medium really, they won't please all and sometimes its money talks eg. Saudi. We'll see how it develops, its not a good thing but i also think some players especially the class of 92 should still have a bit more leeway. Or just keep in the rankings and manage that part similar to how Ronnie has.AddicksAddict said:

What a night last night was - it was hard to pick which match to watch. Mark Allen was my tip this year and I'm no fan of John Higgins but I have to take my hat off to him after the double on the red and clearance thereafter after Allen broke down on 63 points. Allen will be rightly gutted though.
Let's hope for similar in the QFs. Based on what I've seen I'm thinking this year's winner could come from the Kyren Wilson Vs Higgins tie.

John Higgins has some of the biggest stones in sport. Whenever he needs to pull out a bit of magic, in a situation like that, he always seems to have the mettle. It is (grudgingly) brilliant to watch.2
