Was poor after a few good minutes….would let him go back to Ipswich0

Playing devil's advocate but you could argue limited game timeCovered End said:2 months and still no sign of improvement.2 -

Perhaps he is a good example of not bringing in players with a background of injury/limited immediate time playing football.LTKapal said:

Perhaps he is a good example of why Scott needs to be given a P45.
And there are many more. Mostly out on loan at other clubs.8 -
Been proper rubbish in a Charlton shirt. 100% do not keep next season.2
 -
Got lucky that the permanent move fell through, and we only loaned him!8

On paper a good signing but he’s not impressed me other than scoring one great goal, I expected a lot more.
There’s no logic in signing him. May and Kanu are our “nippy strikers”. Leaburn and a new signing will be our physical strikers/target men. Chuks needs to be a 5th option as we can’t rely on his fitness.Ladapo despite his size is more similar to Kanu and May, we don’t need a third, there’s an obvious gap for a physical striker with a good fitness record. Jones has tried to fill that with Wickham temporarily.
I also wouldn’t keep Wickham or LuaLua for the same reason as Chuks. None of them make sense when he rightly wants an energetic and aggressive team that doesn’t stop running.8 -
He’s had his chance to impress and be offered a deal and has shown nothing to make the club consider it worthwhile. Return to sender.8

Shouldn't be too difficult, address unknown, no such number, no such zone. Thank you, thank you very much🕺😉.ShootersHillGuru said:He’s had his chance to impress and be offered a deal and has shown nothing to make the club consider it worthwhile. Return to sender.2 -
Have more faith in a half fit Wickham than Ladapo2

Just looks like a typical journeyman that's had more clubs than I've had hot dinners.
He's an f*******g unit... but offers next to no physicality to our front line. Even shys away from it much of the time.

Posted on the player marks thread, but despite the stick he was getting from the away end he was actually involved in most of our positive moves 2nd half. Credit where it's due, but he's clearly not the player he was a couple of seasons ago and has been totally underwhelming. Definitely not a player we should be looking at next year.1

He scored a goal every 120 odd minutes last season for Ipswich. One goal in almost 700 minutes for us. For whatever reason it doesn’t look like it’s working for him here.
I’m hesitant to write off a historically profilic scorer because we all know what will happen when he comes to the Valley in another team’s colours next season.3 -

So a player suddenly decides he wants more money then been agreed … and you say still buy him ??NabySarr said:
Pulling out of the Ikpeazu deal is another to add to the list of really poor decisions made this seasonScoham said:Anyone else feel our current front two look like something a 10 year old would pick? Look down last seasons L1 top scorers and see who’s available.
We’ve blatantly needed a striker who can win headers, battle against CBs, hold up the ball and link up with May.
Instead we’ve gone for another poacher (last season) who also needs to play alongside Aneke or Leaburn to get the most out of him.
May doesn’t offer those things at all so it’s vital his partner does.
Tuesday is time to see if Kanu can offer more from the start of the game or if he looks better because he’s up against tiring defenders.
Have to pray Aneke has a good run of 20/30 minute appearances from the bench.4 -

Perhaps he is a good example of getting a loan in to see if he is worth it before shelling out for a contract.
Now they know he isn't. But why not throw him in there for games that don't matter.
Let him get the shit kicking instead of players we value.1 -

He'll rejoin Rotherham and become their top scorer in their League One winning team.Callumcafc said:He scored a goal every 120 odd minutes last season for Ipswich. One goal in almost 700 minutes for us. For whatever reason it doesn’t look like it’s working for him here.

Apparently due for a promotion bonus if Ipswich are promoted. Can’t blame him for wanting to stay at Ipswich to ensure he gets another promotion bonus.RonnieMoore said:

None of the players on loan seem worth retaining.5

Well we are probably paying more for Ladapo so in hindsight yeah we should have signed Ikpeazu insteadRonnieMoore said:

He really didn't have the desired effect did he.
You'd think a front line of him Kanu and May would be ripping it up but you couldn't be more wrong.
Accomodating him meant May was anonymous for much of the game.
Concerned me a bit that Jones didn't see it earlier.1 -
Had all the signs of "last chance saloon", unimportant game against a team with a good defence to see what he can do. Well we got an answer.5

I agree, maybe there is some financial thingy that compels Ladapo to play but he hasn't been all that for us.carly burn said:He really didn't have the desired effect did he.

Don't think he was that bad today in a sea of mediocrity, certainly better than a few other cameos he's had. Second half, until he was subbed he was probably our liveliest player0
 -
Why, why, why is Jones continuing to play this man when he should've been sussed out two months ago.1
 -

I was very surprised he didn’t take off Kanu when Bakinson came on to let May have 20 mins or so up top with Chukscarly burn said:He really didn't have the desired effect did he.

Without being too disrespectful/nasty, as he has had quite an impressive career at this level, but he's been absolutely diabolical for us.
I feel like we have landed him just as he has made his way over the hill, and suspect we will see his career go on a downward trajectory now. Doesn't really seem to excel at anything for us.
Real shame as it's a player I've always admired in this league. Worst use of the loan window I think I've ever seen in general tbh this season.5
