Brentford are in a bit of a trouble - even with the return of Toney. They've lost 9 of their last 12 matches in all comps with their only wins being at home to Luton and Forest and are only 4 points above the drop zone. Next 7 games are:
Man City (H)
Wolves (A)
Liverpool (H)
Man City (A)
West Ham (A)
Chelsea (H)
Arsenal (A)
They will do well to pick up half a dozen points from that lot.0 -

The signing of Ross Barkley has been an absolute masterstroke.
Rob Edwards only mistake was going to Watford for a season; I believe it was Autumn ? Though the payoff would've been decent.
A man who wears his heart on his sleeve and his tears on his face when Tom Lockyer had his cardiac arrest.
Edwards skill to get everybody believing and playing with a great spirit is testament to his man management ability and his football nous.
A human being not a robot; how long will we be able to say that in the world of AI ?
Most of us had Luton to be 22nd behind Sheff United and Burnley just staying up.
Amazing effort from the Manager, Boardroom, staff and fans to join together as little Luton fight against the behemoths of super clubs with super wealth.4 -

Enjoyed the Maddison and Maupey back and forth. Prem could do with a few more characters.4

An interesting question just posed in the office this lunchtime...
What with FFP and all that follows, could Chelsea actually financially afford to sack Poch now if they wanted to get rid of him?
(followed by giggles me and a couple of others at the resident Chelsea fan who I get to see once every 4 weeks looking like a bulldog that has chewed a wasp!)0 -

He strikes me as one of those annoying little buggers that enjoy rubbing the oppo’s nose in it - a bit like Craig Bellamy was. Trouble is, he’s not really good enough to do it at prem level as he’ll invariably end up looking silly.1 -
Zouma has absolutely killed Philips 2 mins into his debut1
-
Within two minutes of Kalvin Phillips' debut for West Ham he's got himself an assist. For Bournemouth.2

Im sure he’ll get stick but Zouma killed him0

For example:
They sell Mount for 60m = 60m profit on the books as he's homegrown.
They then sign players for 300m but all on 5 year deals = 60m on the books per year. So for FFP it levels out.
It's why they'll probably have to continue to sell homegrown players, Chalobah, Gallagher, Broja etc. As those are the players who will yield the most profit for FFP purposes.
Their problems will come the longer they take to get back into the CL. They also have problems in that some players like Mudryk, Jackson etc have turned out to be rubbish and are on massive long contracts.

Selling talented home grown players, so that you can buy overpriced flops isn't a recipe for success2

Was surprised they didn't sell Gallagher in the end , thought they might have cashed in. Just find their entire model under Boehly to be completely nonsensical.2

Here's the tweet I saw...

If Spurs really do want Gallagher who's been quoted in the £50m bracket, hold off until the summer when he's only got 12m left on his contract.1 -
I hope nobody takes on Chelsea youngsters (the fees they wanted for Broja were insane) so that they implode under massive losses. Wankstain of a club.4

I don’t think managers salary was part of FFP ?0

Thanks John , that makes a lot of sense from Spurs perspective to hold off and wait for the summer where there's a better bargaining position. Going to be some panicking at some clubs when they can't sell fringe players for what they expected to.0 -
Wow Luton!!0

Lovely work from Brighton in the weird rivalry derby.3

Kin nora... What is going on up in Newcastle0
