That's as may be, but the team still needs to win, so maybe wait till full time eh...🤔
A section of our fans at Burton spent the whole of the second half berating Appleton and “not once” did they chant anything of good intention, such as actually supporting the team…..ridiculous and embarrassing I’m afraid to say.1 -
I couldn’t care less about the meaningless external noise that will inevitably tell us the club’s a mess etc we’ve had 25 managers whatever it is now since Curbs etc
It’s clear Appleton being appointed was a mistake and the best thing the club can do is accept it hasn’t worked out but make sure they get the next appointment right much in the way it seems they have accepted they got the summer transfer window mostly wrong.
Personally hope they ask Lee Bowyer what it would take to bring him back.

Duff had great success at Cheltenham and did well with Barnsley.
When his teams came to the Valley they were very well drilled and organised which is why I want him.
Flopped at Swansea but even Fergie got sacked once.
Relatively young and is available.
Rowett is a former Charlton captain, did well at Birmingham until unfairly sacked and then did a good job with the Scottish club.
Doesn't play "exciting" football but I'll take winning over any fancy style of losing.
Won a promotion and took his last side to their highest finish in years. Currently between jobs. Knows Curbs and Brownie so could get their views, not just Scott and Rodwell's.
Nathan Jones was a success as our U21 coach and did very well for Luton but had bad spells at Stoke and Southampton. A high risk option and has had made strange comments in the media.
Nigel Pearson would be a "safe pair of hands". Very experienced with some successes but also failures, most recently at Bristol City where Jason Euell was his coach. Also worked with Curtis Fleming.
Graham Potter...oh come on, be serious.
Chris Powell, club legend and was said to have agreed to come in to help Holden but then turned down an interim role when Dean was sacked. Now a number two at Sheffield Wednesday but might fancy coming back to London.
Jason Pearce was the last interim and might be again, maybe to the end of the season. Definitely wants to be a manager but doesn't seem in a rush having seen others crash and burn having taken jobs too early.
Curtis Fleming is a very experienced coach but has no management experience outside a year in India but would be in poll position for caretaker being a Scott, rather than Appleton, appointment.12 -

Hate this new saying that’s come out recently in football, “it’s not his team” & “they’re not his players”. Whatever happened to coaching a team?!?!11
-
The first mention of the new managers name must fill the players and fans with confidence that he can deliver promotion in this league and progress in the division above! We’ve had a great window, if the rumours are true and MA has gone, the next manager needs to be the biggest signing of the window!6

Is Johnnie Jackson a definite no no then?
Think he was harshly treated if I'm honest. He was working for a f******g crack pot.9 -

Our manager and players should be able to
mix and match and adapt as required / at all times. There may be a preference but it shouldn’t be anything more. Can a coach really not managed more than one way?1 -
Appleton’s days were numbered the moment he had that argument with a fan Reading away in the Mickey Mouse cup, was never going to end well.2
-
Not seen Andy Woodman's name mentioned yet, would be left field but has done very well at Bromley1
-
A new manager needs to proritise a right wing back. Appleton was talking about another striker. Was he actually happy with T Watson?1

And you think I'm joking! 🤔
It’s lucky that Duff is suited to 3-5-2.
bottom. We don’t have that and it’s not like we have Johann Cruyff ready to step in and implement that.0 -

It’s funny, all this chat about developing young players and all Apples did was moan there was too much young blood and we had to get a load of experience players in27

If Apples has gone then I would be very happy to see Andy Scott join him out the door.
Has bought in two poor managers and a whole tonne of crap players (this windows players currently exempt given they have not settled yet).
Having to sack both managers mid transfer window is really dreadful performance by him.
He threw Holden right under the bus I thought when he left with his comments, I wonder if he does the same with Apples.6 -

How you develop young players is bring them in in twos max. You can bring others in from the bench where the pressure is off. You bring them in and they may do well but you have to be ready to rest them. It is a strategic thing whereas we flood the team with them which is unfair. You see the best young players Premier League teams have lose to League One and League Two crap in the Mickey Mouse Cup because experience has a premium. That doesn't mean they aren't better, it is just they need a bit of time and experience.
As for JJ, and I don't think he will come/be on their list, but I think I need to defend him from a bollocks narrative some have adopted. We looked like we were going to struggle to stay up and he turned that round. Stockley getting injured meant we stumbled to the end of the season but without any threat of relegation. JJ wanted to bring in better players for the system, Sandgaard decided he wanted to change to a new system but didn't want to pay the premium for it which was incredibly stupid and some fell for it. It wasn't that the system under JJ was found out but that we needed better players to play it and it would have been sensible to evolve from it rather than try to be Man City with League Two players. If we had kept JJ I am confident we would be in a better position today than we are.3 -

I would suggest relegation is a disaster that could end us. Forget play offs … forget next season for the next couple of months.
Stay up. Stabilise. We need the 2024 equivalent of Jose Riga and then we can go again.
Players should be more than good enough. Get some feel good emotion and ride it. Doesn’t need to be more complicated than that.3 -
