Powell would put a smile back into the club without doubt but I’m really not overly convinced he’s the man we need.0

Predictable... He's gonna get a few games with these players at least. They're not gonna sack him after one.
But they should!0 -

We are deep in the shit. I think he would be great.
Seems weird to say I know, but a manager that's got great form at this level might not be enough at this moment in time.
We are heading in to Sam Allardyce/ Warnock territory here. Whoever it is will have to work with what he's got. They will have to bring this club and it's fans back together very quickly

Relegation is a very real possibility2

We need our Charlton back for 5 months. Chris Powell making an emotional comeback out the tunnel would be the equivalent of a jump start. We can fix the problems in the summer (not to say it can’t be him long term - stay up and you get the job Chris).3 -

And you think I'm joking! 🤔
It’s lucky that Duff is suited to 3-5-2.
But still, there has been no continuity in either. Adkins was 4-2-3-1 and possession based then basically route one toward the end, Jacko was 3-5-2 and more direct and pressing based, Garner was all possession and winger-based 4-3-3/3-4-3, Holden was direct and 3-5-2 but basically had to play 4-3-3, and then we recruited for 3-5-2 in the summer then immediately switched to 4-3-3 once the season started.
Then Apples comes in and is 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 and wants to play with more possession than Holden but the Frankenstein's monster nature of the squad and his own shortcomings are his undoing once we get a couple of injuries. So ONCE AGAIN in January we recruit for 3-5-2 and whether Apples is gone today or Wednesday we will be looking for yet another manager who now has lots of CBs and CMs but one winger and three WBs who all gave shortcomings.
On the bright side we do finally have the foundations for 3-5-2. On the down side, we AT LEAST lack depth at wingback, and at worst need upgrades (I think Edun will be fine there, Asiimwe isn't ready, TW has been poor the last few weeks but did play there for MK Dons).
It's such a mess.

Only hope they're looking around for a replacement in the background before sacking Appleton, so they dont look stupid and take ages to get this next one too2
-
But but… 200% certain he’s gone20

Hope they're ready for a toxic atmosphere on Tuesday night then4

Appleton needs to do something pretty amazing if he hasn't been sacked. If he does fair dues to him. But it has to be a fantastic run from here. Defeat or even a draw on Tuesday and the run he needs will have ended before it started!0

Didn't they say the Holden rumours weren't true as well? And I know it's a different ownership but there were rumours about Garner that the club denied and then he was gone within the next day or two. What else can they say? 'Yeah, you got us. Don't make a big deal out of it though, we've done a whole Twitter thing about it for later'.

If he goes, speaks volumes about how piss poor it’s been since se7 took over, despite the influx of bodies over the last 2 weeks.I appreciate when they got involved last Jan they couldn’t categorically say they were going to take over, but Holden was their man and he was woefully under qualified for the job. The shambles continued in the summer with the players we bought in, and was cemented with the appointment of Appleton.Very few of us were happy, but he got the benefit of the doubt, but I hope that as a fan base now we are hyper focused on the next man through the door. We simply cannot have a Garner or a Holden, neither of them were worthy of managing us. Nor can we have another league one jobber like Appleton. I know we don’t have the greatest amount of choice, but the next person to come in if Appleton goes has to be the right appointment
I don’t care for ‘intent’ or the fact we’ve brought a few in. The situation we have found ourselves in for the last few years is dire. As encouraging as Coventry and Ladapo are, we must as fan base be at the point where it’s 100% on the owners to prove what they’re all about. Unfortunately, I think they’ve been sold a dud by Scott and Methven and fortuitously, they’ve agreed to put more money in re; playing squad, but I get the feeling it’s money in on the basis that this is all we’re getting, we better make it work. I can’t imagine they’re pleased with what they’ve bought and although they’re serious business people and the in the knows have talked up their ‘intent’, I can’t imagine that means accepting the croc of crap they’ve got so far
I think Scott and Methven are on very thin ice, and I think we get one more shot at this, so I don’t want to see another pathetic appointment as manager5 -
If we go a goal down on Tuesday that is going to horrible for him. Not that he cares5

All respect to Louis, but the club will announce in their own time, and want to be seen to be in control of media announcements...so WIOTOS...but still feel no smoke without fire...4
-
Too many of the right people have said he’s gone.
The official line will be that he’s still the manager until an announcement is made, not sure what Louis was expecting the club to say.“Yeah, rumours are true but don’t tell anyone yet.”6 -
