Mark Bright was a decent signing, giving experience up front and a much needed replacement for the departed Leaburn.2
-
The back 4 from 1985/86.
Humphrey
Reid
Pender
Thompson
Then add in Shirtliff & Melrose for the next season

In terms of the right men at the right time, Youds and Mills in 1998. Ditto for Jim Melrose in 1986.3

If memory serves me correct signed from WBA, sold back to WBA, resigned and then sold to Swindon. Might be wrong of course.Lewis Coaches said:

Steve McKensie did a good job for us, after a very poor start. Really rated him as a player5
-
Costa for me…….but there are so many other fantastic ones as well.3

Lots from the past but the most recent one has to be Alfie May0

Colin Walsh. Not just for “that goal” but for being a consistently classy player during his time with us.
Paul Mortimer. He originally took some stick from from some fans when he first came to Charlton but he became a great player for us. If one were to make a list of the greatest goals scored by Charlton in the last 40 years, he would feature very prominently. He had that amazing ability to pass to himself!3 -

Sasa Ilic. He may not have burnt for long, but boy did he burn bright while he did. From swimming pool lifeguard to arguably the most in form goalkeeper in the country for probably a 10 game period or so at the end of 97/98 season. I'm not sure even his mum had heard of him when we signed him.0
