Root hasn't been hooking crazily in the air either.
    Well done Crawley 189.

I’m no cricket expert but the one unforgivable thing given the state of the series and the weather forecast would be for England to allow themselves to run out of time. A draw is no good so I’d just be batting 20-20 style from here on in to try to get a huge lead and then try to bowl them them out in whatever time remains.  But as I say i know little about cricket…..

    Reckless Bazball - no thanks
Crawley hasn’t changed how he’s played at all. There have been plenty of streaky moments in his innings.

He gets out for 30 and it’s called reckless but when all his shots go in the gaps it’s not reckless. 🤷‍♂️
I disagree. He left far more balls outside his off stump than previously, which is why he didn't edge one and get caught.
He edged plenty early on. One fell short, a few flew over the slips a couple went down leg past Carey for 4. He was still streaky but rode his luck. Take nothing away from him but he didn't really change today.

He still played and missed many times, plus a couple of inside edges that he got away with. On another day he’s out for 20-30 again.

I'm not naming names but I remember a poster saying neither England opener would average 30 this series. If Crawley now has 3 ducks, he still average 38.5

6-7 an over is fine, keep playing aggressively.

Looks to me that that is precisely what they are trying to do, they're not exactly scoring slowly.

I think the new batsman should take a little while to settle but then we should be aiming for 10 an over.

Maximum of 22 more overs today but be lucky to get 15 with the over rate.

Much worse opposition, but the boot was on the other foot against Ireland when Crawley got out for 56, when Duckett went on to make 182 and Pope 205!

It was that selectivity his morning that gave him the right to bat the way he can bat. He scored just 28 runs off his first 50 balls (56.00 SR) and was more selective than he has been on many occasions in the early stages of his innings. It was those 50 balls that allowed him to then score 161 runs off the next 132 balls (122 SR).

With the Aussie not attacking, we should knock the ball into the gaps for half an hour and still get 5 or 6. This partnership needs to get us 100 ahead then the carnage should follow which will hopefully take the game away from the Aussie and cause scoreboard pressure when they bat

Probably agree with the start but make it 20 mins not half an hour. Then go hell for leather.

Make them keep going back to Starc when he is struggling.

Which is how 'Bazball' should work.

    Sensible Bazball?
