No one deserves this more than Zak crawley, the amount of abuse and criticism from clueless cricket fans that the bloke has taken in the last 3 years has been relentless.

To be fair, he'd been really frustrating.

Lots of pretty 20s and then out.  Think I mentioned James Vince previously as someone he reminded me of who used to do very similar, and at some point you tend to drop people doing that.

Glad he's proving people like me wrong, and having a good series and now a great innings.

Now the top scorer in the series, by the way, just went past Khawaja.

Even if he got out now he'll be averaging over 50 at a SR nearing 90!

Crawley has been one of the most frustrating batters in our side for a long time. Constantly looks good for 30 then gets out. It's nice to see him play well and convert into a big scor

Crawley skipping down the pitch at Marsh, almost gets a six out of it. One bounce four.

Can't be much fun for the Aussies knowing that if they get these two out, the quicker-scorers will be in...

bat them out of sight and just hope the weather plays ball....smash it all over the park as quick as we can

Get to 450-475 and declare. There is a very small chance we can bowl them out sub 150 and we don’t want to continue batting unnecessarily.

But that should also realistically keep any target below 250 at the absolute worst. Which England are showing they can reach inside of 50 overs.

I'd gamble, bat hard and declare at 6pm with a lead of 75ish. Put them in for 20 or so minutes and try move the game on. We can't risk a weather leading to a draw

I'd bat all day today and have a look out of the window in the morning.

On the other hand, while the going is good and the runs are easier, try to push on.  I'd rather get the runs in one innings if possible.

Get the runs quick and you could be 550 by lunch tomorrow and hopefully just have 10 wickets to target in 2 sessions tomorrow and (hopefully) most of Sunday, or at worst have a quick 100 to knock off.

The weather forecast makes it hard but I think we can get runs quicker now than in a 4th innings.

I would think that's what they want to do but the weather means it's going to be difficult to bat after today.  I think they would be better off going hell for leather for the half hour than bowl in the hope of a wicket or 2.

Crawley has the most runs in the series and the highest score.

I hope he concentrates and gets his head down this afternoon and very carefully, diligently and sensibly goes after the other two "bests".  He needs six more fours to overtake Head and thirteen more sixes to overtake Stokes.

Crawley takes England past the Aussie total with a big six over mid on.

    320-2

    God no.

Really hope we don't.  Declaring too early already cost us one Test!

Marsh's bowling is like the perfect sandbox for England's batsmen to work out what shots they can get away with

Aussies pretending to deliberate over an lbw review that had no chance. 15 seconds taken out of the game…

Exactly, the difference today is generally we haven't hit the ball in the air unnecessarily where a fielder is waiting for the catch and we left a lot of balls outside the off stump early doors. Excellent batting.

I keep swinging on this. Given conditions a trickyb20 mins tonight might be the hardest time to bay and gives us basically 2 go's with the ball relatively new and the bowlers fresh. But then on the other hand don't quit while you're ahead. Ride this wave. Demoralise them get a substantial lead and back us to take the wickets quickly. We do have a spinner which they are lacking.

How they must be wishing for Todd Murphy right now

Crawley hasn’t changed how he’s played at all. There have been plenty of streaky moments in his innings.

He gets out for 30 and it’s called reckless but when all his shots go in the gaps it’s not reckless. 🤷‍♂️
I disagree. He left far more balls outside his off stump than previously, which is why he didn't edge one and get caught.
