What an incredible job from Woakes and Wood with both bat and Ball! Baz has some selection headaches for OT now.

    We are not bottle jobs.

Felt nervous since 11am and was never certain we would win.

Mark Wood and Chris Woakes have made a great contribution to this win.
Harry Brook was immense even if he got out to a poor shot

Woakes is so underrated, especially in England.
    6 wickets… 32 massive runs… I make you right

That's a relief. Thought we might blow it when Bairstow was out. Well done England!

    2 wickets

    43 runs

    3 wickets

The winning margin in each Test… happy to see England going toe to toe with the best Test team in the world.

I take back everything I said previously, brilliant lads well in! Not really a massive cricket fan but have been gripped by this series

Australia still in the driving seat - they just need to not lose the last two Tests.

But if England win at Old Trafford… I know which camp I’d prefer to be in for the Oval.

It makes such a difference having Woakes at 8 rather than Broad.

In the last test our 8 and 9 were Broad and Robinson.

    Woakes at 9 even!

(if we get Foakes in for Robinson next Test.)

Yay! The series is back on.

Drop Bairstow for Adam Rossington and we are all set
Need to get Foakes in. Best wicketkeeper by far.

What many of us would like to see happen with Foakes, I very much doubt will happen. Suspect that Anderson will come in for Robinson but have no idea whatsoever who they will have batting at 3 now.

3-0 would have been a massively misleading scoreline, as all 3 games could have been won by the other side.

Watching Pat Cummings interview with Atherton,.. not one word of congratulations to England, blaming everything, Clouds included, for the result, you lost mate to a better team on the day,...wouldn't take too much to say a few words of appreciation to the opposition...

I can't imagine Stokes will be able to bowl so we'll need Woakes to play for his batting at 8 with Ali at 7. I don't think they'll drop Bairstow so might aswell just play him at 3.

Interesting what seamers they'll pick. I'd go with Broad, Anderson and Wood.

Interesting that Mo asked to bat at 3 as opposed to Ben or Baz asking him to bat there.

even if we win this, we've limped to the finish. Was a great opportunity to wrestle the momentum of the series from the aussies in the series. Feel like that's gone now. Aussies will feel they got close now.
    You what

    My team for Old Trafford…

    Crawley
    Duckett
    Bairstow/Ali
    Root
    Brook
    Stokes
    Foakes
    Woakes (those three together finally!)
    Wood
    Broad
    Tongue/Anderson

Ali if the pitch favours spin - if it doesn’t, Bairstow bats three and Root gets through ~10 overs per innings.

Robinson needs a rest so Anderson if it’s a green top and Tongue if it’s a flat deck doing nothing.

No bowlers will need resting at OT, as there's a decent break before then. Robinson will surely drop out because of his injury issue, and Jimmy will be ahead of Tongue.

True but then that and the Oval are back to back.  More 'rotate' than 'rest' maybe!
