Winviz has us at 75%. I wouldn't go that far tbh. 60/65% would be my guess.

    Aus 1st inns: 4-1

    Eng 1st inns: 18-1

    Aus 2nd inns: 11-1

27-0 is already the highest first wicket stand of the Test match.

    England 1 to 3
as the world’s worst gambler , if I still gambled I’d lay England at that price
there’s a few demons in that wicket and we can be 80-0 then 120-5

I have never had the slightest interest in cricket but this England team have hooked me in. I appreciate that it’s probably not good from a purist point of view but it’s exciting I think

In chases like this it's important that one of your first 2 wickets puts on a partnership just to capm the nerves, confirm there are no demons in the pitch and take the total down enough that you can survive a mini collapse and still be within shooting distance.  Its a great start. A bit more tomorrow will be perfect.

It's good for the game of cricket however you look at it.

Even if we lose this match and the ashes we've been close in every game and in another universe we would be chasing a 3-0 lead tomorrow. Its been amazing watching.

Bowl them out as quick as we can (obviously). I'll back us to chase anything under 350 but would like it to be nearer 250.

Someone else needs to step up with the bat and lead the way. We cannot rely on stokes to carry us through every time.
That's what I said this morning. Pretty happy with how the day went in the end. Probably could have had them out for 30 less but think we bowled well enough.

It'll be over tomorrow either way. I make us favourites.

It was a good evening! Long wait for it though. Our mates missed last train home so now trying to find a hotel… one is meant to be on the blur boat at 11 tomorrow. Told him earlier to go straight from Leeds to it. Not actually thinking he may have to! Now in pub.
  • England had a fair slice of luck today with conditions being massively in their favour

Let's hope they finish the job tomorrow

Really? With Englands knack of collapsing like a house of cards, at the mere breeze of an Australian bowler.

One thing I learnt yesterday......that the fielding side can only enter onto the field of play at the start of a days play once their captain had crossed the rope first.

Only been watching the game for 45+ years.

    Mind blown.

I won't feel like we're favourites until the target is below 50 and we've got at least 5 wickets in hand.

Winviz has us at 75%. I wouldn't go that far tbh. 60/65% would be my guess.
Winviz percentages are laughable. I'd have it as 52/48, with England marginally ahead, but not more.

To be fair the bookies think similar.

    We're 1.35 on Betfair.

Those Aussies are so tenacious they never accept that they're beaten though do they? If you don't keep your foot firmly on the throat when ahead, they get back up to bite you in the ass.

Well done England and get down you Aussies! Let's hope the men can back that up and assert their authority whenever to win the test, but they'll need to be at their very best with Starc, Cummins et al coming hard at them and believing they're invincible.

It looks like a wicket where you have to be aggresive. You will get out but that way you can make a few runs before you do.

Today looks set fair with the weather forecast, you just know we will be 4 down before lunch, but I still expect cap'n Stokes to get us over the line, but you never know with these pesky dodgy Ausies..
Wouldn't it be nice to see them get hit everywhere for once and we get there for 0,... wipe the smirky sickly grin off their ugly mugs...ooh I hate those down unders...☝

Why is it laughable? Just because you don't agree with it, doesn't make it laughable.

I just hope the openers bat sensibly early on , don't want Duckett gone first over because he's slashing at wide ones again. I don't want to be in a position where Stokes yet again has to save us.
