Has anyone mentioned that the delay in the May deal being announced, is probably due to the structure of the fee and how its being paid?

Miles is quick and big, shite defenders are going to compete against that by kicking him which will lead to more injuries than a slightly slower, more slightly built striker. Will also lead to more goals when he is fit.

I don't know if he's particularly susceptible or just coming off worse from the "numbers game" - he's got a physical style, he's still growing and he's playing quite a lot of minutes for someone his age. If one in (for example) 10-20 tackles is a serious injury risk but he's the only one getting tackled, law of averages says eventually he WILL get injured (and has been.)

In an ideal world he'd be playing second fiddle to a more hardened, experienced striker, or least have someone to take his place if he's got a minor niggle and could do with a break. Currently, neither of those are true and I suspect he will unfortunately continue to pick up knocks and injuries until this is corrected.

343 doesn't really make sense at this level because almost every team play 352 or 433 for a reason.  You need 3 center mids, or even 4.

I still don't buy that we are going for May as alternative to Leaburn anyway, I suspect the Leaburn alternative is being worked on either way as well.

I don't we can get too far ahead for next season's formation based on the early preseason friendlies.  I would say the Aberdeen game will be the first real clue.

Perhaps you’re right regarding the 3 central midfielders but if it’s not one of our strengths I don’t think we should play to it, for me currently out best XI is in a 343.  But what’s to say Holden isn’t going to sign a centre midfielder that will
change all that.

What do you think of the Coventry 5-2-2-1?

The front two midfielders drop wide and back out of possession into a 5-4-1.
Wing backs give you the width and the two holding midfielders cover.

Or Luton's 5122 but you really need at least 3, 4 is better though.  Accrington had a 5221 as well a few years ago.

I understand the sentiment but no one is unbreakable, merely fortunate. Erling Haaland was untouched by injury this season but missed large spells last season with Dortmund through injury so anyone can get it, particularly with the intensity of the modern game I dont think a single pro will make it through their career without at least a strain 

I didn't mean it literally, the point was that one player's body is different to another, and there are players who will go their whole careers with very few injuries caused by impact because their muscle condition, ligaments and the way they perform certain movements allow them to largely avoid injuries, whereas other players will experience the opposite.

Makes sense, apart from us every club he’s played permanently for is in the north west and he’s from there too.  Also been involved with Morecambe’s survival fight successfully in this league, they’re gonna need that.
