You can see both sides of it. Bairstow isn't without blame. If Australia lose it may be argued that this affected them negatively.
They're not going to lose this match, but I think it unlikely they'll win the series 5-0 now and they can expect a hostile reception for the rest of the series. Even the Aussies down under are reportedly not happy about it. Facing heavy criticism from their own will hurt them. Baring a miracle, they go 2 up, so from their point of view, all good, but I'm sure in private they'll reflect on the wisdom of not withdrawing the appeal.

What are the chances of England getting the 128-runs?
    Low. But not zero.

    5-10%.
Though Beffair punters are considerably more optimistic.

Jim Maxwell said the Aussies should've withdrawn their appeal. some England fans would rather slag off Bairstow.

The Aussie play hard cricket and the umpire went by the rule book so Bairstow was out.
    Not against the rules but...

Starc definitely grounded the ball and obviously didn't have his fingers under the ball so correct decision.

Trevor Chappel bowling underarm under the orders of big brother Greg so the Kiwis couldn't hit a 6 off the last ball to get a tie.
    Not against the rules but...

The bodyline series of 32/33 when Captain Jardine asked Harold Larwood, Voce and Bowes to let the short ball go at the "little Bastard" Bradman and co. 90 years ago and the Australians still haven't forgotten.

Great angry batting from poor knee Ben Stokes but we will be 2 nil down at the end of this test but ironically enough the last 3 tests should be great viewing as both sides
     are wound up.

    Can't see Stokes repeating Headingley.....

And as I type Smith drops one.

But Stokes needs to calm down. Get 2's & get the target below 100

Dont mind Stokes going for it when we are 9 down, but pointless getting out & leaving 9,10 & 11 trying to win it

Broad is loving this, he's the sort of person who thrives on a bit of aggro.

I'd like to distance myself from the sentiment expressed in this tweet, while, simultaneously, thoroughly enjoying it

If they did that at Hedingley, the game wouldn’t have made it to lunch

Didn't think we had any chance of winning this, but if Stokes stays there, we definitely can.

    This is hard to watch!
  • If these pricks win by less than 15 runs, Lyon is going to be a hero for coming out to bat yesterday.

    Imagine.

That and Stokes declaration in the 1st Test could be the winning margins
