So refreshing to see an England bowler who can get it over 90mph and bang it in without much control or movement

It's almost like he is bowling at Smith and Marnus who are both 150 odd not out, not Ireland's lower order...

I can see why but doesn't mean I agree with it.

Broad averages 29 from the Nursery End & 24 from the Pavilion End. Bloody Jimmy! Get rid of him

Leach getting 3 wickets on Day 1 at Lord's, on the 1st June, is unexpected

I'm slightly doubtful that the Aussie's will play Leach as badly  :D

If we are going on averages he would be a shoe in.

This Ireland attack looks totally toothless.

    3 quick wickets inbound

Zak riding his luck. You suspect that those inside edges won't go for boundaries in 2 weeks time

    Ohhhhh Zak…

he really needs some time out to work on his game. Very scratchy innings that.

One of the world's most exciting teams, batting in the sunshine at Lord's. I can think of worse ways to spend a Friday.

It'll still be pleasant, but not exactly exciting. It's like watching a PL side playing a L2 side, such is the gulf in quality and experience.

what ???!!!     Not excited at the prospect of watching England get 500+ before tea. Then putting Ireland in again & getting them all out before close of play. I only hope those with tickets for Sunday have already sent them back for a refund.

Oh, and whilst on the subject of cricket.......

Why is a Test match between India & Australia being held in south London !!!

We are the mugs of the world. Host Eurovision for another country and what thanks do we get.....2nd bottom.

Now we are hosting the "final" of the Test championship even though we aren't in it & cant even claim to be hosting because we won it last year !!!!!

I'm looking forward to going to see the World Series final at Earl's Court in August & Copa Del Ray next March at the Hammersmith Apollo 😡.

Saw recently that the Greek Cup Final was to be moved and Selhurst Park was a suggested option.

Virat Kohli said it was wonderful that the WTC final was being played in south London “Because it’s full of tits, fanny and Charlton”

I completely forgot that my seat in the lower Edrich was under cover, and thus would get no sun...

Won't be needing my sunhat or cream, but could do with another layer!

Today's challenge - to name one player who plays the late cut BETTER than Duckett

We have an opener who now averages over 40 in Test cricket (and over 42 in First Class cricket) and that man, Duckett, is not known for opening in the County Championship. But when the name Bairstow is mentioned as doing so for England (who has been a habitual opener in ODIs and T20 for England) we are told that he can't do it because he doesn't open in red ball even though the guy currently doing the job, Crawley, averages 27 in Test cricket and 30 in First Class matches. As a result we have to leave out one of the best keepers in the world, who has averaged just under 40 in the last year for England and replace him with someone who is not as good with the gloves and is still clearly struggling with his mobility.

Well played Duckett, but I'd fancy Kent to knock 500 against this attack

I wouldn't on the current form of Kent

It's a glorified net really and not the ideal prep for an Ashes series especially if numbers 4-7 don't end up getting much of a bat

I would, that's how easy it is.
