Coventry City will return to the Coventry Building Society Arena next week after the pitch was deemed safe.
Independent sport turf experts, appointed by the English Football League, have determined the surface is now playable after remedial work.
The Sky Blues will host their first home match of the season against Preston on Wednesday, 31 August.

I was up in the midlands earlier this week & the local news did a piece on this…
When they showed the Coventry fans protesting, there was a guy holding up a banner saying “Save our club. No more Charlton away!”
…either in reference to the joint protest years ago or the fact that we now represent L1 (where no-one wants to be!)1 -

Seems to be the usual strong rumours of Mike Ashley. This seems his more likely destination, a division above us and can likely pick up ground and club for not a lot.0

The operating companies that run the Coventry Building Society Arena have applied to enter administration.
Arena Coventry Ltd (ACL), Arena Coventry (2006) Ltd and IEC Experience Ltd expect administration orders to be made "in the forthcoming weeks".
BBC CWR reports that former Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley is the preferred bidder to buy the stadium.

the two companies quoted are tied up with WASPS RUFC, which may or may not have ceased to exist .. Former Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley has taken over the operating companies which run the Coventry Building Society Arena.
Ashley's Frasers Group had been named as the preferred bidder after making a £17m bid for the three businesses, who have been placed into administration.
Coventry City agreed a deal on Wednesday to sell an 85% stake in the club to businessman Doug King.
A court ruled his £25m offer to own the stadium had come too late.

I can only imagine he'll be using the stadium as leverage to jump the queue and buy the club. Having the stadium with no team(s) to play there just doesn't make sense.1

Coventry City have been given a suspended points deduction after three Championship games had to be postponed because of the state of their pitch.
The five-point penalty will be implemented if there is a further breach in 2022-23 or next season.
