Can someone confirm when it’s okay to start wearing tea towels again.21

”This doesn’t mean a deal is imminent, but it’s not just the club and its fans for whom the situation is unsustainable.”
Im looking into how much an inflatable camel is…0 -
Why not? We've been here plenty of times before and it's the same rinse and repeat.Fanny Fanackapan said:
Why not ?cafcpolo said:So it's all been agreed, basically a done deal apart from EFL approval which we all know from experience is a piss take but no one is willing to say who it is or where they're from?Nope, not buying it.
We've gone from showcasing the club to potential buyers to done deal apart from EFL approval in less than two weeks. Sure, things could have been ticking along in the background before that and they'd have to have been with DD, etc. The only snippet of info in that time has come from a single poster on here.
Then someone (with a crap track record on takeovers) announces that it's practically done and everyone else comes out of the woodwork. "Yeah, I've heard that too. Can't say anymore though. We should be excited. We'll be in good hands. etc etc etc".
I'd have expected more info to be out if it were true, as someone mentioned what does giving the nationality away reveal? Absolutely nothing. One of three things happens from here.
1. Takeover completes shortly, people were right, I was wrong. Fair enough.
2. It'll go silent for a while, nothing happens for a month or so. People ask questions. Ahhhh, EFL didn't approve (Yeah, alright) or last minute snag as RD or TS upped their price.
3. It'll go silent for a while, months down the line it goes through. ITK crew will claim it as a win.
I'd love to be wrong, just can't see it though. Not yet anyway.5 -
Hopeful but not buying it. We don’t get nice things in these parts.3

Any number of reasons, as I don't think there is any reasoning as far as Charlton is concerned at the moment.Exiled_Addick said:Why sack a manager if you've just agreed to sell the club?
Genuinely don't think Garner getting sacked is any reflection on anything else that is, or could be, going on at the Club.
Every decision seems compulsive and made without consideration imo2 -
Why would Varney push for fans to go to the Brighton game if a takeover is done other than EFL approval? That suggests it could be announced before that game in which case the buyer is already convinced. Or there’s more than one possible buyer?

He first mentioned Brighton a couple of weeks ago, things could have changed by then and/or to show the new owners the potential?Scoham said:Why would Varney push for fans to go to the Brighton game if a takeover is done other than EFL approval?5 -
Maybe as he thinks it will be the first game with the new owner so thought fans would want to be there?Scoham said:Why would Varney push for fans to go to the Brighton game if a takeover is done other than EFL approval? Swisdom said:My understanding is he was using it for a while but then Raelynn took over it, and censored it so he didn’t see all the negativity.
She tried to deflect the majority of the abuse and only feed back the positives. Presumably she has run out of things to tell him
Not what she told me, she keeps an eye on all the forums and answered questions any on his behalf and baring in mind he hardly spoke in the 2.5 hrs we were with them I assumed she was the pa that Kyle his pa answered too.
Kyle asked the questions, she made the assurances.
The most TS spoke was when he was asked if the main man responsible for Seb’s mosaic memory could attend an unofficial service on the Friday as he was banned on match days.
The bill from 7 coffees in the Biltmore hotel was just under 30 quid so I take my share of the blame for the January 2021 budget being so low! 😂

He could have sacked BG because he knows the club is close to being sold and after what he said about him publicly he might be thinking that a new owner would like his own manager anyway so why not sack him now
We have absolutely no idea0 -
Maybe it’s progressed quicker than expected?Scoham said:Why would Varney push for fans to go to the Brighton game if a takeover is done other than EFL approval? Let's hope there's some good news out there, though we've been here before, a little too often in recent years.
I reckon it's the Japanese who've become involved due to the Meantime tie up. Look forward to playing at the Asahi Valley!0 -
Are we convinced it’s not Barclay ? I think I’m right in saying that he’s always remained interested but only if he could purchase the football club along with the freeholds ? Now it seems Duchatelet is willing to sell The Valley and Sparrows albeit through his son doing the negotiating, could it be Andrew Barclay working alongside Peter Varney again ? Would seem to me that he might be the obvious buyer ?4

How many times bitten and how many times shy are we?
Maybe it’s true, but here, out in ‘public’ as it were, all we have is unsubstantiated rumour, something we’re well used to, it would be more fun at least if we had something more, even if cryptic or in code.
Actually I have heard something, all I can say is:

So much guessing going on, with an unexpected emphasis on positivity!0

been here far too many times before, I'm going to the Brighton game but refuse to get even remotely excited until I see the official club twitter account confirm it
expect the worst and things can only then get better..3 -
So why in the press this morning is there a piece by Sandgaard saying Hilarious that the club is up for sale , and for all those that have so called it’s at the EFL waiting approval , what a load of .1
-
I'm sure he said he remained interested but only if it was everything a while back, maybe in the summer.ShootersHillGuru said:Are we convinced it’s not Barclay ? If the Belgians have dropped the price tag then it seems quite possible.
Could people possibly tell us who it is definitely not?
That shouldn't do any harm to who it actually is.0 -

I'm not convinced it's not (yet) and I'm ever hopeful it might be. Last I heard, the timing/conditions didn't suit him, but those might have changed in the meantime. I'd love to be proved wrong as I've previously written him off.ShootersHillGuru said:Are we convinced it’s not Barclay ? @Ruffdiamond The article is from May.this is why I hate social media sometimes because it’s so quick to spread outdated informationRuffdiamond said:So why in the press this morning is there a piece by Sandgaard saying Hilarious that the club is up for sale , and for all those that have so called it’s at the EFL waiting approval , what a load of .

The NDA clearly doesn’t apply to you then. Exciting news though. But You should have been more cryptic. I loved her in Blue Peter.seth plum said:How many times bitten and how many times shy are we?

Would someone be so kind as to catch me up on developments of the last week or two? I've been out of it for a bit and I'm going through threads trying to piece things together, but if someone could do a quick primer it'd be much appreciated.0

That’s par for course RR.The Red Robin said:@SoundAsa£ catching strays on that other site.
As for RoV claiming I got the info from him by reading his forum…..well what absolute bollox, let him live in his mad universe.
Anything that he can do to elevate his forums traffic and put down CL is his main motivation in life……to the point of obsession.

Dave from Dover won't touch it with a barge pole.
And Ed from Eltham says he needs to speak to his missus first...0 -
A former Prem player with a consortium, tabled a bid. TS said the amount offered equated to a 20% share of CAFC.
Bid still on the table2
