nothing like a bit of spin!! Bristol rovers sacked, granted.
Swindon, he would be in year 2 of his second job if Charlton as a more attractive proposition didn't come along.
charlton, he will be here longer than a year0 -
Win is his next 3 and he has a chance of staying up. Might need results to go his wayAthletico Charlton said:Managed 43 games in L1Won 8

But young Sandgaard told his dad that he would be perfect, and we have been told that he knows all about footballTodds_right_hook said:

My post was attempted humour. 43 games managed in league 1, 46 in a season.....ross1 said:

the fact that I'm trying to explain says it all. I expect more tumbleweed to pass in front of me0 -
Underwhelming appointment is unsurprisingly turning out to be underwhelming
I don't think he'll last long1 -
Quite honestly, where would Sandgaard go next?BigRedEvil said:Underwhelming appointment is unsurprisingly turning out to be underwhelming

He's fu*ked up every appointment he's made0 -
I reckon the Oxford game is his last chance to keep fans onside. It’s all wearing a bit thin now.0

I think we've signed about 8 players and three of those are permanent deals with players from Swindon, yet the general consensus is that Garner doesn't have any input on player signings?

And that's because Sandgaard and his scouting man (son) haven't got the first clue about spotting talent so they handed much of it to Garner.SmileLikePender said:I think we've signed about 8 players and three of those are permanent deals with players from Swindon, yet the general consensus is that Garner doesn't have any input on player signings?
As I said earlier, quite where they'd go after sacking Garner would be interesting.
I think we've got a fair old way to go before it happens for that very reason.0 -
If your homeless and you pick up 3 £1 coins off the floor do you have any input to your income?SmileLikePender said:I think we've signed about 8 players and three of those are permanent deals with players from Swindon, yet the general consensus is that Garner doesn't have any input on player signings?0 -
It doesn’t matter, neither are good enough. This is the problem. We don’t have good enough players. The only thing I can critique BG on so far is the fact he said he watched all our games last season and decided to play Stockley up top in a 3 in this possession based style. Stockley can’t run the channels, has the touch of Bambi on ice and is only effective getting on the end of crosses. If he said he watched all those games, you wouldn’t get Stockley to play that role.nelsonsleftfoot said:Taking CBT off today and replacing with Kirk. For a moment I thought the Barnsley manager was in charge of our substitutions.
I also think he’s been very naive to think players of the quality of Inniss, Lavelle and O’Connell can build a game from the back, and his commitment to his possession style in general.Apart from that I would say he’s had to bring in players on a paltry budget, working for a deluded owner in an unstable football club. It’s unlikely to turn round for him with the players we have, it’s just a case of how bad it gets with them under him now for me.1 -
Garner sounding like Jackson, sounding like Adkins, sounding like Bowyer.
All of them spinning the same record.0 -
I'm starting to think my almost tongue in cheek comment back when he first came was he'd be gone by November...... I can see TS pulling the trigger. Just like all those before him, would be harsh.0

Would be mad. If you sign a Manager as you want him to play a certain way then you have to give him the right tools for the job.Rob7Lee said:I'm starting to think my almost tongue in cheek comment back when he first came was he'd be gone by November...... Absolutely, but in TS we have another egotistical madman. He'll be blaming Garner 100%, yet we all know where the issues lie, I never thought it was Jackson and I don't think it's Garner. The problem is the owner, just like it was with RD.LargeAddick said:

The solution is simple.Jojo
clare Lavelle O’Connell sessy
fraser Dobbo Payne
Rak Leaburn Stockley CBTIn a traditional 4-4-2.3 -
Sneak a couple more on, if you're going to break the rules, you may as well be hanged for a sheep as a lamb.Valiantphil said:The solution is simple.Jojo

decent attacking coach, horrific at teaching teams to defender as shown by his past records0

Difficult to see how this is going to end well for Charlton, or Garner. A slow drift downwards and in or around, the relegation zone by the end of October and sacked soon after.
Just hoping that TS goes because we aren’t going anywhere but even lower leagues under his appalling stewardship.
Unless he is consulting his spreadsheets as I type……1 -
I’m cutting BG some slack as he has clearly been sold a pig in a poke by Sandgaard but I have to say I don’t find him totally convincing.3

CBT is one of the most overrated players in this squad. Yes he has pace but how often does he provide an end product?nelsonsleftfoot said:Taking CBT off today and replacing with Kirk. For a moment I thought the Barnsley manager was in charge of our substitutions.
He's probably one of our better players, but the way some people hype him up is madness.7 -
He hasn't got a brain and lacks football intelligence, that's why he fits in with our squadCroydon said:

Our squad is not top 6 but it certainly is not 16 in L1. Garner is underperforming the weak hand he was given.4
-
He’s been sold short. Not enough ambition with recruitment and no senior striker who can play Garners system.1
-
Let’s not get silly. Garner is the hope of a serious way forward. The Club are at least aiming to play attractive football and he needs a minimum of two more windows.Athletico Charlton said:Our squad is not top 6 but it certainly is not 16 in L1. I for one do not want a return to hoof it forward football so I am content to let him get on with it.8 -
100% bang on. And the fact he’s one of our ‘better players’ speaks volumesCroydon said:

If hoof ball is the way to get out of this league, I woud be all for it. But of course it needn't be.Redrobo said:

I have a feeling Ben's very open approach to defending wasn't punished anywhere near as much in League Two because the quality of finishing is poor. In League One it is getting punished more frequently. I don't see any attempts to address it. We allow so much space around our box and are happy to leave players forward even when we're under pressure.
That's this team's biggest problem, we can't do well if we continue to concede in every game. I think the continuous 3/10 performances by Stockley are really distracting from the problem at the other end of the pitch. If we had a striker who fit the system, this would still be holding us back. It's very difficult to win games when you have to score 2-4 goals every time.
You obviously can't blame Garner for Jayden, he's stuck with him for the time being, but our defensive record is very much on him.8
