Untrue .. he passed a medical at the training ground , and QPR failed to get their target and changed the deal from a loan to permanent at 10.55pm

You're aware that 'striker' was Macauley Bonne?  Proper?  Might he have made a silkier purse out of the sow's ear that passed for service in to Miles Leaburn last night?
All ifs and maybes as Skintgaard pulled the rug and we're lumbered with our rabble of League 2 free transfers, youngsters, outcasts and crocks.

It was QPR that pulled the rug nothing to do with Charlton .. plus we only went after Bonne because BG number one target got his move to a championship club 

So we went all transfer window chasing Scully then on deadline day he went to Wigan we turned to Bonne? If so what a plan.

Because it was Simpson of Ipswich who played under Garner at Swindon and was his prime target , we had a bid accepted but he wanted to wait to see if he got a championship club 

I didn't ask what do you know, I asked how do you know?

Simpson probably was our main target and it then moved to Scully.

We found out that Huddersfield we’re not going to loan him out after they brought him late on deadline day we then looked at a Millwall forward but turned to Bonne .. we never went after Scully

Despite Ronny's info to the contrary (I can't believe I had to say that) we had been working on a deal for Scully for months.  That is where the Gilbey rumour came form, I actually think that's where the "Gilbey told he could leave" story came from.  It was that long in the making.

I understand that we spent the last 2 or 3 days of the window trying, and failing, to make "chains".  When all else failed it's was left to Gallen's little black book, that's when Bonne came in.

There might be frustration from Garner, and the players, that we didn't sign x or y.  There is certainly frustration that they were all offered up like second hand cars.

There is, in my opinion, more to the last team selection than meets the eye.  It will all come out in wash.  Or not.  Only time will tell.

Late to this, but Garner shouldn't be picking players to make a point. I'm no fan of Sandgaard and want him out now, but the manager has to try and get the best out of each player and pick the best side to win a game.

Garner should absolutely be picking teams to make all sorts of points - to the players - the latest bodies dropped from the lineup owe it all to their own performances, Richard Chin excepted

CBT has started to become a key goal threat and has to be first choice for that reason.

A much of a muchness... We need creators and scorers.

But this tells us absolutely nothing, or nothing that we already didn’t know. They’re completely different players who just happen to play in the same position.

Kirk passes more, CBT dribbles more and takes more risks. CBT is more direct and has electric pace, Kirk takes more touches and is slower with the ball at his feet. Kirk needs a full back to overlap so he can come inside, CBT can hit it and breeze passed an opponent. I guess what those stats do show is that although Kirk has more assists, CBT has created more chances in less minutes. And it’s down to the forwards/other players to be more clinical. One of Kirk’s assists was from a pass to Clare who rifled it into the top corner, it’s unlikely that he’ll get an assist like that again this season.

They both prefer to play on the left but ultimately, I really believe we are a far better team when CBT is on the pitch.

Depends on the situation. When teams are sitting back against us I'd rather have Kirk on the pitch. Feel he would have been far more likely to make something happen in the second half of the last two matches.

We have to gamble on CBT gaining composure because he is the biggest goal threat we have. For many League One defences, he is unplayable. I think he suits the left as defenders stand off him because of his pace so the opportunity to cut in and get a shot off is a very regular one. But with him and JRS, surely we have to wide players that we can switch in the right circumstances too and give full backs different problems in the same game. The challenge is to get the quality of the shots up. He is a professional footballer with some ability, so this should not be beyond our coaches and the player himself. The players who never get there are the ones you shouldn't bother about.

I would say that if JRS and CBT had been as sharp as they should be, we would have had at least 2 more goals from our last couple of games and that would represent four more points! Having said that, if/when we do crack it, he will be snapped up. I'd be trying to extend his contract now.

I disagree. The rug looks to have been pulled from BG and surely it is a false economy to anybody who does understand the potential implications of that.

Agreed - slagging, bitching and moaning on here is one thing but when I’m at the ground I’ll be 100% behind the team as always

He will certainly get time from me, but I also feel he needs resources as well - and hopefully the time will allow him and the club to bring in the right players.

Exactly my fear, but he has yet to be given time anywhere, and if we give him the time opportunity to build his squad who knows.
