Thats just it... By the sound of things we've got a couple of names we're looking at - Worst thing we can do is put all our efforts into signing one player, and ending up with no one if that falls through.se9addick said:Whilst not my first choice (or second, third…) I would take Bonne over nothing, especially if Garner thinks he’ll fit the system which Stockley plainly doesn’t.
The worse thing we have done is leave it till today.
We have had 3 months to sign a striker and should have done so earlier.
If only our owners had the same sort of experience of working in Football as the majority of our fans... Oh wait
Most of the top sides in league one have strengthened this window.
I know we have to a certain degree.
We are better balanced as a squad than we were last season.
I'm just saying we should not have left it until today to replace Washington.2 -

Five tankards of your finest frothy ale landlord and fresh horses for the men.Henry Irving said:We few, we happy few, we band of siblings.
For they to-day that reads with with me
Shall be my sibling, be they ITK or nay.
This day shall gentle their condition;
And Addicks in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their fanhood cheap whiles any speaks
That read this thread with us upon transfer window day.
We ride to London tonight!6 -

I can confirm that Bonne hasn't been in Sainsburys today. No chance of a deal there.2

Let’s see how many of the top sides in league one bring in players today, to see if we are the outlier. I expect we won’t be.blackpool72 said:

Or is Bonne in addition to the permanent forward, just in case we manage to offload all of the unwanted?Covered_End_Lad said:I havent had an update from my source since yesterday, but if the above is correct that would suggest we have missed out on the permanent forward I was told about.
Personally I think Bonne would be a very poor signing. He works hard and will press well but his interplay and first touch are shocking.0 -

What's happening to the 5% of the 95% deal - he's in Sainsbury's getting some sushi perhaps.0

i never slagged him off and don't remember him slagging us off so can't really comment but if the slagging was unwarranted then he's a slag and can do one you slaaaaaaaaagggggForeverAddickted said:
So we can slag him off... But he cant slag us offDOUCHER said:

Wow there are some fragile people in this world5 -
Whoever it is was told last night the 5% was just the formality of the paperwork being signed. Player wants to come and agent has told all other interested parties it’s a done deal. Would imagine was completed early this morning and just awaiting official announcement etc.mendonca said:What's happening to the 5% of the 95% deal - he's in Sainsbury's getting some sushi perhaps.7 -
I'd be more worried if he was coming out of that big M&S with 3 bottles of champagne.0

Heard that Crawley have offered to pay him in monkey jpgs. Currently haggling over which monkey jpgs.Jake likes the one with a collinder on it’s head with a feather boa but Crawley only willing to give up a standard monkey jpg with baseball cap.5

Its a tough game. I prefer the type of player who would want to play at the higher level.jbaker said:I think the majority of people just forget these fellas are just young adults. Ok probably mid 20s but still young adults who are finding their way in life. So much more comes in to a move than just is what is seen on the surface. I wouldnt want to be living in a hotel week in week out with no friends and family around me at that age. They also need to go and fit in with a new group of players all with their own agenda/ego and im guessing this isnt always easy. Yes by all means im assuming most of us would love to be a footballer, but whats to say if we were we would love the game? To some its just a job they are lucky enough to be good at. Ive just turned 35 and in the football world at that age your too old and retiring . . Its a short career for them to set themselves up with . . .you cant blame them if a move doesnt suit what they want. Clubs have a duty to pay the player the sums they signed the contract for . . just as much as the player has a duty to perform to the best of their efforts if selected to play. I dont know anymore info but for the sakes of the Gilbey debate, why would he want to move house out of the London area to go to Lincoln? Makes sense to hold out for a move that suits his lifestyle. if the manager doesnt fancy him and he isn't selected all he can do is train each day and give 100%, the rest is out of his hands.
