Why was he calling himself Steven Sessegnon at the top? Is this like Only Fools and Horses where Rodney keeps being called 'Dave' by Trigger?1

A good season or two and a bad one for them, won’t take much…killerandflash said:
The more depressing counter to that is that Palace, and indeed most Palace fans, wouldn't care if one of their youth players got us promoted, as we're way off being rivals to them at the moment.Athletico Charlton said:I hate Palace but the thought of one of their best young players helping get us promoted would be quote amusing.
Hope he is decent and lives up to the hype. The pace of him and CBT should certainly have an impact.
A striker, CB and LB now please.
welcome to London 😉2 -

Premier League 2 .. also known as youth team football .. we'll see if he can handle men's football ..Covered End said:
18 goals & 6 assists in 34 games (I think) in Premier League 2 playing wide.Lincsaddick said:
are you John fecking McEnroe .. chalk flew up .. yes I am totally serious, a waste of a place when we could do with a proper experienced striker ..Covered End said:

We don't want a striker to play alongside Stockley, so it has to be a wide goal scoring forward.3 -
Yes, but he's not going to start or even make a sub appearance.Scoham said:8 -
What about him makes you think he won’t be good enough to even start a game?Lincsaddick said:

Ffs… how did Conor Gallagher do? This lad has started a few senior games for the stripeys, he comes with a very good reputation. Knows a few of the lads already from Palace (Ryan) and Chelsea (Miles). Rein your neck in and give him some support!Lincsaddick said:

So what with this apparent wizard joining, and along with CBT, Kirk, and DJ flying down the wings, all we need now is a forward line that can keep up with them, no use having all the speed creating crosses if there is no-one ready to finish...

One of those players yet to hit a ceiling he cannot penetrate. Might take a few games to get going but he is honestly a hugely exciting talent.
one of his coaches at Palace tells me “he needs a challenge”. U23 was a bit too easy for him31 -
Blimey, didn’t see that one coming. Well under the radar.
Now, shall I be whelmed or underwhelmed, in true Charlton fan tradition and in homage to Golfie I’ll go for the latter;)1 -
Spoke to a Palace guy the other day, reckons this guy will be Zaha’s long term replacement.

it’s a slight gamble, sure. Neither Kirk or DJ, players signed from other league 1 clubs, have set the world alight. CBT, our best winger, was signed from League 2. How about you give him a chance before chatting a load of nonsense?Lincsaddick said:

Good signing, heard good things about him, looking forward to seeing him play.1

Gallen looks a lot healthier there than he has done so the past 2 years!14

This has been "done" for a while. The hold up was the contract at Palace being agreed. It says a lot about how highly rated he is there that they didn't even want people to see him play before he signed it.
Make no mistake we would not have signed him this time last year for 101 reasons and shows the difference in approach now.
This is also a loan with potential over longer than this season. They won't play the Chelsea card and recall him in January to loan him to Ipswich.
Gallen, Thomas and Garner all have personal links to Palace and like it or not we need to use them. You never know we could sign him permeantly as we swap leagues in 2025.
I would have a small bet that he gets close to the number of games that Cullen did, which I assume is the record?
This is also a good advert for good agents.25 -
What is Mark Bright doing these days?
Seeing that Steve Gallen mentions that he came to the training ground with Rak-Sakyi
Nice to hear that even Dougie Freedman was telling Gallen about him0 -
I’m sure he has. Just like he’s heard of Joe Gomez, Ezri Konsa, Ademola Lookman, Nick Pope, Conor Gallagher and Josh Cullen.addick1956 said:

Bright is a full-time Palace ambassador. He does a lot of the "nice stuff" with the players. Sort of 25% Chris Powell 50% Tracy and 25% still a stripy c%£t 😜ForeverAddickted said:What is Mark Bright doing these days?

Top man is Brighty although I think he is the only Charlton player I have ever booed on his debut 🤣🤣😅🤣
TBF he told me he didn't blame me
