Omar Bogle - gone to Newport (p31)

What's a non-league player doing winning League Two Player Of The Month then?2

Also I'm not saying he's better than Stockley ffs, ofc Stockley is much more dangerous in front of goal. But Bogle was pretty good at dropping deep, controlling the ball and laying it off. When we went on a good early season run he was a big part of it, even if he barely looked like scoring; he kept defenders occupied and generally looked to get involved in play4

When in a hole.

I notice none of you are arguing with my actual argument, just hurling rotten tomatoes. Cardiff signed the guy for a reason - he has a decent skill level4

Bogle was often lazy and ponderous. Slow yet tricky. If he could find the work ethic at league one level he could have been a decent gamble.
He was not good enough for us and whilst I agree he could pass and bring a ball down better than Stockley, (I disagree on Aneke) he couldn't finish and tried ridiculous shots that rarely got on target, let alone bothered the keeper.
He wasn't a team player, he tried to dribble it all the way himself and at the end of the day was flogged to Doncaster and is now a League 2 player. He has found the level he can excel at.1 -

burstow has enough about him for Chelsea to take a punt on him.
to say that burstow is no less effective than bogle is actually laughable.

What has Burstow actually done, not what could he potentially do?0 -

What has Burstow actually done, not what could he potentially do?Burstow is an 18 year old in his break through season, who despite being in a dry spell has around 5 in 20 in all competitions. Bogle as an experienced pro scored 2 in a similar number of games.0 -
Bogle's biggest problem wasn't really lack of ability on the ball ...... but what was going on inside his head at Charlton.
His lack of self-belief crippled him. The harder he tried the worse he got.
He got dogs abuse from the crowd that was killing him, it was plain to see. Mentally he was shot.
Many people seem to forget that players have all the strengths, imperfections and frailties of being human.

In league games Burstow has scored a goal every 325. No assist. The 15 league games Burstow featured in we netted 11 points, 0.73 PPG.
If you think I am suggesting that Bogle is in anyway shape or form better, or has more potential than, Burstow I suggest you reread what I wrote. Because that's not what I said.

Omar Bogle gets paid to play football.
That is a success in my book.

How’s his rap career going?0

He wasn't great but if people think he was the worst player they'd seen in a Charlton shirt, who can forget Lepointe, Eggert Jonsson or any of the Matt Smiths?0
