Oh really? Congratulations to Conor Washington on his two year contract with Championship club Rotherham.SELR_addicks said:

He has over 100 appearances in the Championship with QPR and Sheffield United… you’re talking nonsense.SELR_addicks said:Washington should convert to a winger, it seems more inline with his talents.
The lack of assists and goal conversion means he will never be a leading striker in the division. At 29 he's never played above League One and it shows.
Lots of effort, the ability just isn't there.
Chill, your best mate will play us next season and you'll see what we aren't missing.
The Washington slander on this forum has been horrendous. Hope he does well there, he will certainly be a great compliment to Michael Smith.7 -

I was For keeping Conor, his pace scared defenders, he chipped in with goals, and made space for others. Agree that Stockley and Davison look the best dream pairing since Cole and Beardsley, with much in common with the….. Except obviously the skills, the pace and the goals, but CW would have been a good variation in tempo imo. Got to wish him all the best in the league above0

Washington is one of the players I would like to have seen kept. Good player and made us a better side. I have huge doubts if we'll get a better replacement9

The mental gymnastics and false equivalences are frankly amazing.
I’m hoping he plays 30+ games, scores half a dozen goals and they stay up comfortably just to see what your double down rationale might be in 12 months from now.1 -

There is no mental gymnastics there. Good luck to Rotherham next year, they will need it.
If we signed a player with Washington's exact profile we would be underwhelmed.0 -

Chelsea is a player farm and have signed Burstow to make a profit in years to come based on a youngsters potential at the start of the career.
Rotherham have signed Washington because they've seen enough of him to know that he'll be capable of performing in the championship and will add to their squad in thar respect.
Yes his conversion and finishing ratio to chance needs improvement but he was one of our best players last season, always gave tired defenders a headache for 90 plus minutes and scored a number of goals for us.
Bizarrely he is probably the one player we had that is suited to this high press chatter that we will purportedly play herein so it makes it all the more surreal why we didn't keep him especially as there is no sign of us having brought in anyone as good or better at this stage.
Think we'll rue letting him go.

Point in he was good for us and a good addition to the squad in League one alongside Stockley and Aneke (who is immense at this level but injury prone).
If we bring in a striker to fit the system that is as good as or better than what Washington offered the team (not just goals) then it won't be a loss. At this stage we haven't replaced him with someone like that and not sure we will.0 -
Although I was quite shocked at his departure initially, he's got no place in a 433 so I don't see it as a loss.2

That doesn't make him any better than he is. He's a wasteful striker that runs a lot, but doesn't assist goals either. Good for midtable League One with a good striker next to him, but can't lead a line in a promotion push.
Good luck to Rotherham next season.1 -

And his distain for Adkins is pretty clear in those interviews, guess he's one of the players that downed tools for the first 12 games.0
