Always makes me laugh seeing Lee Bowyer smart in his suit with his hair neatly combed. Puts me in mind of a schoolboy at a wedding.5

That goal looks like the sort of thing you’d see Manchester City or Liverpool pull off.8

Very easy to lump all in together in a shite team.
IMO Purrington has always been an effective, efficient and steady defender.
But last season we saw a different aspect to his game.
He's a real threat inside the opposition box. Strong in the air, and has a knack of getting into great goalscoring positions.
Very pleased we've retained him, and he could be a big player in a good team.5 -

What I always found a bit strange was that when we signed Kirk, all Crewe fans said was he is effective with a good left back behind him supporting him and we never seemed to play the two of them together.
I like BP, he’s by no means irreplaceable but in my view, in league 1, we’re stronger with him than without him.6 -
If he goes, we'll need at least two incoming FB's, unless we're to persist using wingers to play out of their favoured positions. He's steady, can deputize as a CB, and poses a goal threat. I'd like him to stay, but think he may decide it's time to move on if someone comes in for him..1

Thank you Ben. Good honest pro and could never fault the effort, also the scorer of one of the most memorable goals in our recent history.
Hoping he has a stellar career ahead of him. Any lower league clubs needing a left back, he’d get a glowing reference from me.16 -

Interesting wording from Cawley
Ben Purrington is on the hunt for a new club this summer after being told he will not be offered a new contract by Charlton Athletic.
I thought that he was one we were talking about a new Contract with, especially when the list announcing who had been released was put out by the club last month.2 -
Just reading the last page or 2 of this thread where Purrington was playing LCB and it sent a shiver down my spine. Next season can only get better for us.1
-
Now only Forster-Caskey left at the club who was part of the 18 man squad at Wembley.13

Good luck Ben.
As with other released players, it's a good decision if we get in better players.11 -
Will stay in League One, unlike most of the players we've released0
-
Was hoping we kept Purrington. Would have liked a new first choice left back but I think we will do very well to sign 2 that are better than him.7

Headline misleading, thanks for your efforts Ben..0

Yes, title needs amending.0
-
Think he was keen to stay0

So we now need four first team full backs, unless anyone in the academy is ready to step up.2
-
Four? One Diallang Jaiyesimi is a pretty handy full-back these days5
