Anyone remember him? Same Charlton youth team as Parker, Defoe and Fortune. Really good read in the Athletic about him today ...
From failed footballer to Gerrard’s No 2 via Chelsea, Sao Paulo and Liverpool

Yes, I remember him well. He wanted to play in the States when things weren't going well here and I put him in touch with Graham Tutt, who if I remember correctly trialled him. Not sure what happened after that and lost track, but he was a lovely lad and always gave 100%. Good to see he is doing well.

We are too low down the food chain (in the real world) for Beale now I would say.1

As an aside, while our current crop of U18s are good, that squad has some ridiculous talent
3 England internationals - Defoe, Parker, Konchesky - plus a PL regular in Fortune6 -

I hadn't realised what a long career Kemal Izzet had at Colchester, playing 471 games. Charlie McDonald has had a very long and nomadic career, still playing at Barking this season2 -

Charlie MacDonald had a decent career and was still playing this season for Barking, scoring 5 goals, until he was injured in a car crash and took over as Manager in January3

The first games I got taken to were in 1998 but one of the earliest Charlton memories I have is Charlie MacDonald's goal in the FA Cup in January 2000, not long after my seventh birthday! Glad that he ended up having a fairly decent career in the Football League.2

How weird, my first match at The Valley was the Charlton v Newcastle match in December 2001 where he scored his only Premier League goal, making it the first Charlton goal I ever saw there. MacDonald bros.

Anthony Allman. He was massively rated as I recall, went through Lilleshall.
Watson -assume not Gordon?
Ford-is that the lad that bobbed off to Spurs (the first "Defoe" if you like, but never made it?)0 -

Had a scary thought Ben Watson might be in the running for the gig, surely not0

Interesting timing from Beale to post that. He could have just “liked” it but he went on to comment.Maybe I’m reading too much into it or maybe he is being a tease0

Will watch this one closely because I think he's an incredibly interesting coach who has a massive future.3
