Shocked, I know a lot thought he should go but how many thought he would?1

Shocked. Thought he deserved another year20
-
not shocked8

Damn I thought I was first ;-)
Very surprised at that. Can't just be on the back of a poor defeat Saturday. Surely TS had this in the pipeline for a while.
Thanks for everything Jacko. The club will feel very different without you around.4 -
GOBSMACKED!!!
All the best JJ, We will always have Sunderland away.2 -
Absolutely shocked, whether people wanted it or not is one thing, never thought it would actually happen.Initial reaction, TS ain’t fuckin about this season it’s business. To effectively sack a club legend who never left the building after playing is bold.9

It was reported at the time that the ex-midfielder’s deal only ran until the end of the campaign with an automatic extension triggered by league finish. The South London Press understands that involved Charlton finishing in the top eight.

Nothing suprises me with Sandgaard.
I just hope he gets the next manager right.8 -

No continuity more changes I am a supporter of TS but think he got this one wrong. Thanks for everything Jacko a true Charlton legend.6

Actually quite surprised but not a shocker.
I said I wasn't overly sold on him, and that the main issue was the recruitment and probably deserved the chance over the summer, but better it's happened now, let's be honest, we haven't looked good at all, some good results but still poor all over.
Been a great servant to the club, legend can get used far too quickly but Jacko most definitely earns that.
Also is that now 2 out of 4 from that rumour post? Euell next?2 -
Wow, didn't think this would actually happen. For the first time in 12 years JJ won't be officially associated with our club. Thanks for everything Jacko. A true Charlton Legend5
-
Good luck in the future Jacko but correct decision in my opinion.13
-
It's a good decision if his replacement is better.13
-
Bloody hell. I wasn't hugely impressed by what I'd seen but I still feel really sad that it hasn't worked out. It did look like it was killing him but it's still a real shame, aside from Chris Powell, Yann and Shaun Bartlett I can't think of a former player I'd more like to have had succeed as our manager. I hope he goes on and does brilliantly somewhere else. At least he never had the full host of fans turning on him, that would have been tough to wtiness

Expected him to stay until I heard recently that this decision had been made.
Really hope a replacement isn’t too far away otherwise it’ll negatively impact us bringing in signings and renewing contracts.
This also means the poster on ITTV was right. Said De Souza was coming in as a coach and Jackson (and Euell…) was leaving. Will they be right about TS looking to sell the club?2 -
Wow, I guess it's bittersweet.
All the best Johnnie.1 -
The quality of our football in recent weeks must have been a factor. TS would have seen how slick Ipswich were on Saturday
The lack of contract renewals in recent weeks had made people smell a rat...1 -
Was on the cards, great move from TS - Shows he is taking this rebuild seriously.27

Stupid decision. Now we start again because we demand instant success. Will we ever learn?7
-
All the best, but a good call from Sandgaard imo. More excited for next season now, not less.12
-
That was quick0
-
The right decision.
We all want Sandgaard to back the manager, and he’s only gonna back the manager to the fullest if he 100% trusts and wants him. He clearly didn’t trust or want Jacko, even after the 5 game win streak or whatever it was he was still interviewing other candidates.
Furthermore, Jackson was stubborn tactically, and nothing really changed from when he took over in November to the final few games of the season.

Wish I would have stayed to clap him on Saturday. Always be a Charlton legend to me.1
-
I suppose that probably explains why we haven't been renewing contracts yet?

Ballsy decision that. The sort that you feel will be make or break. We get promoted next year then it's vindicated, we don't then that might be that for popular support.
I would have given Jackson the summer rebuild and a clean slate and taken stock next season but there was always the hint TS wasn't overly keen and clearly a lot of what we've seen shows JJ has understandably been a bit rough round the edges from a managerial perspective.
Thanks for everything Johnnie, always a legend of this club.7 -
big mistake in my opinion, no chance to have a full pre-season and shape his own team
this'll come back to bite us on the arse8 -
Not surprised... The person who told me a few weeks ago was out by two days1
-
Wonder if he knew this Sunday night????1
