  • Down in the south west...all the schools have been shut and it's like the first day of lockdown, no-one is out. Except me, and I have been buffeted by what can best be described as a "robust breeze..."
  • One of the few times where I am glad that I am a fat b******d… I ain’t getting blown down the road

Remember a storm a few years after the big storm of 87 (might have been the one that killed bloke from Allo Allo) and was working in NatWest tower and watching some guy crawling across a crane jib to secure an advertising hoarding that had come loose and was swinging around - utter madness
  • Just watched Sky News...three guys in Ireland having a morning swim...Really ??

  • Made an early morning sortie to Asda.

We now have enough crackers and cheese to last out the storm, even if we have to hunker down for the next four hours.

It all seems rather calm at the moment.
Looking at the reporter's on Sky news at the coast and I was expecting to see waves crashing about.
It looks nothing like it at the moment.
That's not to say it won't change later.

I decided not to take my eldest to Holiday Club today because of the 'red warning of death.' Now I'm looking out the window and the sun is shining and wind barely rustling in the trees.

I'm down to my last 4 bottles of red wine so I'm panicking a bit.
  • It’s been pretty bad here tbh & still going.
Fastnet recorded winds of 172km 😳

All ok. I slept right through it. Getting a bit used to them now tbh.
Off to deliver meals on wheels so hopefully we’ll get through ok.

    Stay safe everyone 💚

Only took them 30 minutes to swim to Holyhead...
  • went to sainsburys in Bromley earlier to stack up on booze supplies. Only saw a handful of people in there. Bit of wind here now but nothing more than the occasional gust.

Very windy in Southampton now, wasn't too bad until about 10.30am. Watching the house across the road as they've had tarpaulin on the roof for weeks!

Well, it's a bit draughty down 'ere in dear old Cornwall.

Locally 75 mph gusts and from now on forecast to gradually drop back.
Storm? Yeah, it's a storm. But no more than we normally get a couple of times each winter.

Believe me, we've had much, much worse that I can remember!
On a scale of bad storms, this one marked out of 10 .... about a 5.

Don't know what everybody's been getting excited about?
It's just a common old storm, sensationalised by the media to get everyone obsessively clicking on news websites.

Saw this linked elsewhere, it's absolutely riveting stuff. Think I may convert from train spotting to planes.
  • Its my Son's Birthday on Monday... Hoping we'll get a free trampoline in the garden for him
  • A bit windy here, but nowhere near as bad as predicted
