The doors are supposed to close 30 seconds before the allotted time, so the train can leave on time.Macronate said:14:33 from Barnehurst.

Won't just be Friday. They'll drag this out over the weekend and into next week - "severe weather situation" = "impromptu 4-day tea and custard cream carnival" at every ticket office on the network.

Bunch of shysters have suspended all trains today due to the bad weather. No problem with that, if you actually tell people. Instead trains are listed as normal until the last second then they are posted as delayed, and cancelled about 45 mins after they were due to arrive. Asked the guy at London bridge if anything is running and he said no. Told him they should probably cancel all the trains then to save people coming to the station in false hope, and the response was "cancelling all the trains gives too a negative an outlook on the running of Southeastern services". In other words, fuck you, we won't cancel them so we can still hit quotas on our service2

A point of order. The information systems are run by Network Rail. The station staff at London Bridge work for Network Rail who are also responsible for the tracks and removing obstructions.
The advice yesterday was not to travel. This was repeated throughout the day.1 -

Go-Ahead Group said it expected being stripped of the Southeastern rail franchise to cost the company £81.3m.
The franchise was removed last year when the Department for Transport (DfT) said it had failed to declare more than £25m of taxpayer funding.
The company said it had put aside £30m for a potential fine.
So far it said it had paid £49.2m to the government, and it expected to eventually hand over £51.3m.

Absolute bucket of piss this evening. Signalling fault somewhere (yawn). Unable to run trains, unable to communicate.
This evening, they're announcing that "your train may be delayed by up to 10 minutes". I was quite impressed with this. It gives me the opportunity to make informed decisions about my journey knowing that the most I'll be delayed in any leg of my journey is 10 minutes.
Obviously it's not true though. I've eaten two packets of Haribo Tangfastics waiting for the 18.43 from Orpington to Sevenoaks, which they have now cancelled. Thieving C#πts.1 -

Are rail strikers definitely going ahead next week? I know they are on Tuesday and Thursday but I’m presuming Wednesdays service will be shocking?0

I understand the pay has fallen well back in the last three years, the bosses are either unable or unwilling to negotiate.
Not working along with not getting paid seems perfectly reasonable action to take after a long period of notice.
If some get paid more than nurses then pay the nurses more.15 -
