Not an attacking midfielder like we were told?Sir Chrissy said:RB on the way from Spurs1 -
The only way a RB makes sense is if we're changing formation to a back four, and thoroughly de-Welshing our squad1

And if we are, getting rid of Kirk is very sillyLeuth said:The only way a RB makes sense is if we're changing formation to a back four, and thoroughly de-Welshing our squad3 -
Not really - he’s crap and we have Leko, CBT, DJ, Washington & Lee who can all play wide.Pelling1993 said:

Kirk would still have the overlapping talents of Purrington to work with. He needs someone to do his running. It isn't going to workPelling1993 said:

Hes been a complete nonentity at hearts, got 1 in 3 during his second spell with Blackpool a few years ago and just turned 29 but he lives off of balls into the box and I don’t see us fitting him incovered_end_junior said:One we were linked with a couple of years ago:Hearts manager Robbie Neilson has confirmed Armand Gnanduillet is in talks with another club.
Reports had claimed Le Mans were in pole position to sign the 29-year-old former Blackpool striker.
The Frenchman has been at Tynecastle for a year, but most of his appearances have come off the bench and he has only scored once this season.
Neilson said: "Armand is speaking to another club. He has been given permission to speak to them. He is trying to get something sorted.
"If he gets something sorted, he goes with our best wishes. If he doesn't, then he will come back in with us."

Are you sure it's not a LB?Sir Chrissy said:RB on the way from Spurs

Extremely disappointing if trueSir Chrissy said:RB on the way from Spurs3 -
The problem is, everyone expecting a big clear out & another re-build in the summer, are unfortunately going to be disappointed I think. Its been said in a few interviews (Gallen, Sandgaard) that they believe we have very much a spine of a good team & only a few additions are needed. I dont see it that way, but I can't see another big re-build in summer. I think we'll end up having much the same summer as the previous one. We'll make a few signings, it'll get late in the window, they'll all panic again & we'll make a couple more.
sorry not much to look forward to in my opinion. 3 -

Marcel Lavinier fits the bill , maybe one of Gunter/Matthews is off?1

Interesting heard a LB was signing on loan from a prem club as well, that's why I askedSir Chrissy said:

Still makes no sense though unless both are off . Surely if we are going to 442 or the diamond (Jacko has talked enough about wanting 2 strikers on the pitch) then Clare will be first choice at RB. Personally I would stick with the 3 at the back but try to make it a little more attackingMarcusH26 said:Marcel Lavinier fits the bill , maybe one of Gunter/Matthews is off?0 -
Maybe Jacko agrees with everyone on here that we have no wing backs at the club & is getting both a new RWB & new LWB to address that.
…assuming the Spurs player does offer something going forward & have the engine to play wing back.
Gallen said 2 maybe 3 more to join this window post Chuks.

I’m more sure Clare would fancy right back - having to play there was one of the reasons he left Oxford.wmcf123 said:

Yeah Clare has done really well at RCB but he is a centre midfielder.ricky_otto said:

21 years old.
Might be a loan with an eye on a permanent move.6 -
If this is Nile John isn't he a midfielder not a RB.Sir Chrissy said:

Really can't see the point. Why bring in a player who wont be here past May so we just have to go through the whole rigmarole once again in the summer.Sir Chrissy said:

And into the bargain we are giving game time to a player from a Premiership team who will undoubtedly be off to another team next year, ala Gallagher, Bielik, Cullen, Millar, Da Silva.......
Absolutely pointless.2 -

Only any point to this if it’s loan to perm, unless you think we’ve a chance of being relegated.0

One of those could also be on the way... I think we're looking for a wing backLeuth said:

The three surprise omissions from Spurs U23 game against Blackburn U23 the other night were:
- Dilan Markanday (just signed perm for Blackburn first team for 500k)
- Nile John
- Marcel Lavinier

I wouldn’t take right back too literally. I assume he’ll be an attacking wing back like many young Prem full backs are rather than an out and out defensive player.Leuth said:The only way a RB makes sense is if we're changing formation to a back four, and thoroughly de-Welshing our squad
If he’s 20/21 or older it’s more likely to be with a view of a permanent move.6 -
You should probably try looking further than your nose instead of assuming that everybody else in the world is stupid. They’re not. We have a management team with years of experience in football who may just be better placed to make these decisions than you.golfaddick said:

Absolutely pointless. This is JJs 1st transfer window. Let’s please afford him a modicum of respect.22 -
Not sure why it's an easy 300k for Birmingham... 6 months wages at c.10k p/w + signing on fee... they've basically just covered their outlay if they're lucky.king addick said:
The idea is to spend smart on younger talent and sell for profit thus filling the coffers. I believe TS even said he is open to investment but wants to lay his own foundations on how he wants the club ran.Tonbridgeaddick said:
Don’t you trust Thomas and his astute financial wizardry…i.e spending £300k for somebody that left for free 6 months earlier.Wheresmeticket? said:I am really starting to think that this is it for our club at least for the next 10 or so years. There isn't really any indication that anyone that can afford the expenditure for a serious push and who understands football is interested.
unless TS gets some investment, because he’s rich, but not rich enough, we can’t compete with the likes of Wigan, Sunderland, Ipswich
Chucks going and coming back is an easy 300k for B'ham but Chucks decided he wanted out. We were going to spend on a player either way, just happened to be someone who left us earlier on.
Will be disappointed if Defoe's coming in. Don't believe there's any guarantee he'll score goals. He's 39. Now we have Chuks the priority surely has to be someone to create chances?0 -
Defoe would be a pointless signing unless Johnnie wants him in with view of him being a coach, Defoe wants to play as well you’d think he’d join Sunderland over us as they still have something to play for this season and we don’t.

What's the probability of this being a permanent?
Spurs have been selling their young players in recent years. They're also in the market for a right back to compete with Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty. Adama Traore and Djed Spence have been linked.
Amos to QPR, Cirkin to Sunderland, Eyoma to Lincoln, Markanday to Blackburn are some examples of Spurs selling their youth in the last year and a half.5
