just had a quick look on the ticket sales page and i'd say about 4k so far - reckon, with away fans, should get over the 10k mark?0

Well we are Charlton, and they're called the Railwaymen. Its a match made in heaven.clb74 said:
Rather be going to Crewe ,mateMStuartPerm said:Am I right in saying first Premier League side we have played in a competitive match at the Valley since we got relegated?I would have expected any Charlton fan to be really looking forward to this, seems not to be the case though.1 -
Most sales will be in the last few days judging by recent trends for cup games. I think sales in the most popular blocks are quite healthy at this stage.milesfromLondon said:Any idea how many tickets we have sold for this in the home end?1 -
A few reflections on Norwich's role in our downfall here: www.votvonline.com1

I remember the first game against them in League One well. We absolutely battered them for nearly the entire game but couldnt score, then they nick one from a corner and win the game. Remember their fans singing "we'll never play you again".Airman Brown said:A few reflections on Norwich's role in our downfall here: www.votvonline.com
The following home game was Leeds I think? Nearly identical performance but this time Akpo Sodje popped up with a late header to win it for us.
I was at the Norwich away game in Sept 2014, that Jacko late winner was sweet!6 -
kids Sunday football commitments now mean going to this is a non-starter
would've been right up for this on Saturday as I'll be free from isolation then as well0 -
Just got my ticket in the AC, I couldn’t get close to my normal seat so if that’s anything to go by then sales are pretty healthy!0
-
My block in the covered end was empty when I bought mine yesterday. Glad fans pressured the club to get them to open the upper tier!0
-
This is the most popular east stand block when you strip out the pricing differential, but on the face of it this is quite impressive. Others aren’t like this but you can’t do bulk comps for cup games so I’m assuming this is real.

Will likely be some players comps in here or WSB, but even so…

I haven't read any of the other 46 pages. Is the game on the red button or available to stream?1

I wouldn't think so, the club weren't able to stream the Havant game for example.Todds_right_hook said:I haven't read any of the other 46 pages. Is the game on the red button or available to stream?
Might get lucky with a dodgy stream if the Yanks want to show it out there0 -
The Havant game was a Saturday though?ForeverAddickted said:

Don’t think it will make a difference. The EFL have streaming services approved for their competitions and the FA don’t.Todds_right_hook said:

The club isn’t permitted to live stream the fixture against the Canaries on CharltonTV owing to FA broadcast rules, though CharltonTV subscribers can listen to live audio commentary from Smith and Stubley by clicking here.Todds_right_hook said:I haven't read any of the other 46 pages. my block (j) in the north upper is circa 80% sold and reasonable sales in most others so by Sunday i reckon will be fairly full so i think it was the right thing to doCroydon said:My block in the covered end was empty when I bought mine yesterday. If ESPN+ have it then there should be a streaming site that should be showing it tooMendonca In Asdas said:Did I hear / read somewhere that ESPN are showing the game, I could well be wrong?

My son is toying with driving up from Bournemouth for this.
Do we have any indication of likely attendance?
Has Greenwich Council extended those parking restrictions that people were discussing on here?0 -

No new restrictions and neither future nor current ones apply on Sundays. There will be the usual suspensions but otherwise you can park on single yellow lines.Six-a-bag-of-nuts said:My son is toying with driving up from Bournemouth for this.

The council has to advertise new traffic orders for a statutory period and update signage to reflect the position before it can make any changes, so that won’t happen quickly.
I think the actual crowd will be bigger than for some league games this season - probably five figures.1 -
Thanks AirmanAirman Brown said:

Every other block in the upper still very sparsely populated, and all blocks in the lower tier look pretty empty too.DOUCHER said:

Doesn't look the right call as things stand. Not to me anyway.1 -
As said previously, would have been far better to have as many people close to the action as possible.Croydon said:

For some reason though people had these big ideas of the game selling out.1 -
i don't think thats accurate. A lot of blocks are at least 50% full already and the greatest, albeit smallest (K) is circa 95% full but not worth arguing aboutCroydon said:

Upper tier - J, K and G pretty full. The rest (bar L) aren't at 50%

Lower tier - sales are good across 3 of the blocks, but still a lot of seats available in B, C and F

We could have completely packed out 3 tiers for this match, and created a decent atmosphere. Instead we'll have 10k spread out and a shit load of empty seats on TV.0 -
In hindsight we could close the Covered Upper Tier for most games using this logic. The ground at present has far more seats than the current demandBelv said:

but the game is not televised so we are not on TV, are we?1
-
ok, it is another slow day at work i guess, so here goes - H almost 50%, J 80%, k 95%, L at least 50% and at least 2 lower blocks were over 50% when i last looked and others on there way - so 'Every other block in the upper still very sparsely populated, and all blocks in the lower tier look pretty empty too' is not an accurate picture. We are 3 days away yet and as our resident expert indicates above, there will be a lot of sales leading up to the game or words to that effect. The atmosphere generated in the north upper, due to proximity of the roof etc will be better and spread to the other stands. Some who get used to watching from the upper tier may have been put off and i know quite a few that are north upper who bought in other stands before they opened it so all in all, it was the right decision for getting a bigger gate and atmosphere and i couldn't give a monkies what anybody watching on the TV thinks.Croydon said:Upper tier - J, K and G pretty full. The same arguments are used to justify closure of the east stand but it looks as if there will be more people sitting there than many league games, albeit redistributed to the centre blocks. It is interesting that the UCE is the most popular area when we have bigger crowds but this doesn’t seem to be reflected at cup games where most people prefer to sit on the sides.
That said, people are analysing early sales, which are likely to be in premium areas. Given we all know it’s not going to sell out I would expect later sales to have a different pattern.0
