I don't think this should be added to the clubs in trouble thread, because they aren't yet. Yet.

Test for the EFL.
Will they accept this as proof of funds?0 -

Have I got this right - a model that puts players in the same space as Pokémon characters?1

FFS. It ends with this: "And our hope is that it works. There’s not that much downside if it doesn’t.”

This will be an interesting one for the EFL to deal with. The whole plan sounds like it's asking for trouble and administration inside a year.2

wow that is all gobbledegook to me - wtf is a non-fungible token ?!0

Would be amazed if this works … just hope the fans still have a club at the end of this experiment … they just see Bradford as a tool to make money and if they fail they will just dump them.3

I am really confused here. The local press and juggle drums are all over that this is Bradford being taken over. But....
Bedford have been taken over by some bitcoin people today. As well, confusion?

I'll leave his to Kieran Maguire on the Price of Football podcast , He will tear this to pieces. Next podcast is due on Monday so I'm sure he will cover this then. Give it a listen. He'll explain what an NFT is for those who don't know (and frankly there's not a lot to know.)
The trouble is he tore a lot of other things to pieces on his podcast, including our villains, but the villains usually got away with it.
Independent Regulator can't come soon enough. Write to your MPs, people!5 -

Gonna guess page 4 is where we reach peak kentaddick meltdown on this one5

NFT's and Crypto are essentiality fools gold, they are only with something because we're told they are worth something, the second the internet moves onto the "next big thing", they'll be worthless.1

I am sure its dodgy, but so is the source of funds, whether its moral, ethical or legal, of all the owners. Whether its fossil fules, porn, book makers, exploitation of health care, social care, click bait news sites, in purchase app purchases etc etc.
There will never, as in the next 20 years, be a fully independent football regulator in the UK. Anyone that watched the select committee would know that.0 - Sponsored links:

I don’t see this as any different to any other takeover. They’ll need to show they have funds to purchase and operate the club. That they think there’s are huge revenue opportunity selling NFTs based off a League1/2 team would make me question their judgment.0

I mainly work on an account for a national newspaper, producing supplements for a variety of clients. We've had a lot of advertising enquiries from crypto currencies this year, so it's obviously big business. The problem is these companies are mostly based abroad and are not regulated so I guess the possibility of losing your investment/being scammed is pretty high. So for this reasons we don't advertise them. My client said to me the other day "crypto isn't go away and sooner or later people will have to embrace it" or words to that effect. I guess regulation is the key although I'm sure there are many more on this site who can share more info and explain it all!0

no, they're worth something because they're literally worth something that people are willing to pay - you must be confused with the US Dollar and stocks.

If this were Holland (and not Bradford) in 1635, you would be able to buy the club with Tulips. More actual than crypto currency and prettier than mushrooms.5

in a world where you can buy (if you have the cash) 'virtual trainers', i.e trainers that don't actually exist except as a set of digital pictels, for ten of thousands of dollars, anything seems to be possible. The era of legalised con tricks is certainly well under way0

@kentaddick
how do you understand that this proposed takeover will be funded? Are they seriously just going to create some NFTs consisting of digital images related to Bradford which they flog to supporters as “ a (digital)piece of the club? Or are they going to put down some real money and try to use the NFTs as an extra revenue stream.
I can’t see it, but maybe I have got it wrong. And you know that while I remain a crypto -sceptic I always value your views because you try to explain how this stuff is supposed to work.0 -
