I wouldn't dare ruin such a fantastic dish as pie mash with anything Welsh.

If we are away from home its normally something rancid from a service station/fast food outlet. If at home then I'm all about sandwiches but my missus has a fascination with cold meat and mash. Ill take or leave that.

When my dear old nan was still alive we used to have some great family parties on boxing day and I'd eat everything, usual party fare but also shit that my mum used to steer well clear of. Mostly pickled stuff. But the biggest treat of the day and something that is making me a bit misty eyed thinking about now was her trifle, didn't understand as a kid why it made me walk into doors and fall over. As a man, I watched her chuck so much booze into these glorious trifles I got it and put the stuff away with a gusto not seen since man vs food.

For a long, long time this was my absolute favourite Boxing Day meal: cold turkey, mashed potatoes and pickles!
